THE VEGAS GLITTER BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS—for May21th 2026

Sabina rearched out from Vegas for a shoot. The Flea is flying to Vegas to take care of business. I was in Vegas so we picked out a classic long chopper for the job.

Hey,

I just rolled into the headquarters from seedy, slimy Las Vegas. The place is a trip. The whole city needs to be steam cleaned. I jumped on an Allegiance flight on Sunday and ended up in Phoenix on a whirlwind of delays.

I didn’t sleep for 40 hours and ended up splashing water in my face and a brother and I stumbled into a convention, like we’ve never seen before. It was wild, and we spoke to folks from all over the world. Everyone knows Easyriders.

What a wild time.

Let’s his the news.

The Bikernet News is brought to you by our resilient team: The Redhead, Wayfarer, Danial James, Sturgis Vicky, LA Laura, Palma, Freak Show and Sturgis Prospect Kendra.

LIVE WIRE WTF? –No one is buying their bikes so they blow a wad of cash buying a company making $11K dirt bikes that no one can buy yet?

LiveWire bought the technology and design. Could be a win-win or maybe not.

–PA

LiveWire Group, Inc. a leader in the electric two wheel industry, today announced it has acquired the assets of Dust Moto, bringing deep off road knowledge and expertise to LiveWire, thereby marking a strategic expansion into the electric off road segment.

The acquisition strengthens LiveWire’s strategy to grow beyond on road electric motorcycles and address the rapidly expanding electric off road market, which is being driven by riders seeking incredible torque and performance with the added benefits of reduced noise, lower maintenance, and an accessible riding experiences through simplified operation and single speed drive.

With the completed transaction, LiveWire is advancing Dust’s electric dirt bike platform toward production, leveraging LiveWire’s engineering capabilities, manufacturing scale, and global marketing, sales, and service network to accelerate development and go to market execution.

“LiveWire pioneered the on‑road electric motorcycle market, and this acquisition allows us to build on that leadership as we expand into off road, continuing the journey that began with STACYC ten years ago,” said Karim Donnez, CEO of LiveWire Group. “Dust Moto is a strong strategic fit and an accelerator of our vision, bringing proven off‑road insight that will contribute meaningfully to LiveWire’s leadership position in electric powersports.”

“Joining LiveWire marks an exciting next chapter in our journey,” said Colin Godby, CEO of Dust Moto. “LiveWire shares our fundamental DNA as an American brand focused on performance, innovation, and putting riders first.  With LiveWire’s scale, resources, and global reach, we can bring our electric off-road bike to market with a worldwide audience and deliver an unmatched off-road experience.”

The acquisition reflects LiveWire’s continued focus on expanding its product portfolio and addressable market while reinforcing its commitment to innovation across electric powersports. LiveWire intends to share more information on the launch of the product in the second half (2H) of this year.

MORE FROM THE FACTORY–Harley-Davidson India is running promos to recruit social media influencers into their “Freedom Crew”.

With an all new X440-T receiving much better demand and sales, with its improved aesthetics and premium features, the American iron is set to focus on building a community and lifestyle similar to its western motorcycling culture.

Considerable membership exists for its HOG India which has the big V-Twins majorly. (There are currently over 25,000 registered Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members in India. They are spread across multiple regional chapters tied to authorized dealerships.)

X440 is not a downgrade or an entry level motorcycle. It was purpose built for India’s equatorial climate, diverse road and highway infrastructure and varying quality of fuel in rural landscape.

Apart from fuel economy, another consideration is the fact that no two-wheelers of any engine capacity are allowed on the Expressways and Freeways. In fact even within cities there are flyovers where two wheelers are not legally allowed access. This is primarily due to inherent underground racing and betting groups that operate with malice and endanger others on the road.

Hey, there are off road and private racing tracks but they are either pricey and/or far away from urban areas. In this fast changing economy, infrastructure expenditure has been higher than most nations in the world.

All this suggests plenty of leg room for internal combustion engines for quite a few years.

Heck, people ride mobile phones now. I don’t think anyone is running out of gasoline anytime soon.

BANDIT–as a member of DAV, you’re helping improve the lives of fellow veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors every day—from Capitol Hill to your local towns and communities.

Here is how three DAV chapters are making an impact in their communities:

DAV Chapter 30 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, recently celebrated a monumental victory—a year of no veteran suicides in Baxter County. Through years of DAV outreach and community support, the chapter has fostered strong camaraderie and dramatically improved access to local veteran health care.

One year after Hurricane Helene, DAV Chapter 18 in Augusta, Georgia, donated a vital new vehicle to the local VA medical clinic. The vehicle will be part of the DAV Transportation Network, which provides veterans with no-cost rides to and from their VA medical appointments.

DAV Chapter 4 in Minot, North Dakota, awarded its $1,000 Bob Fix Memorial Scholarship to Grace Alvarez, an incoming freshman at Minot State University. As the daughter of a retired Air Force veteran, Alvarez’s award continues a family tradition of service, supported by DAV.

El Niño and Hurricanes: Cause for Concern?

El Niño and La Niña have long been known to influence hurricane seasons in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. With the upcoming Atlantic and Pacific hurricane seasons (the former from June 1 – November 30, the latter from May 15 – November 30), and forecasts by some climate modelers of an impending “super El Nino” (possibly the strongest in 140 years) during these hurricane seasons, it is timely to ask: How would a super El Niño likely influence hurricanes? Is there a danger of a super El Niño supercharging hurricanes?

First, a few basics. El Niño (La Niña) is a periodic warming (cooling) of water in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean that can affect global weather patterns for months or even years. El Niño (La Niña) can directly influence hurricane activity by causing changes in vertical wind shear, i.e., changes in wind speed and direction between ~5,000-35,000 feet above the surface. Stronger vertical wind shear can rip apart a developing hurricane or even prevent one from forming at all. Weaker vertical wind shear allows hurricanes to develop more easily.

El Niño (La Niña) generally suppresses (enhances) hurricane activity via stronger (weaker) vertical wind shear in the Atlantic basin, while enhancing (suppressing) it in the central and eastern Pacific basins via weaker (stronger) vertical wind shear. See Figures 1 and 2.

On this basis, a super El Niño would be expected to strongly suppress hurricane activity in the Atlantic basin and strongly enhance it in the central and eastern Pacific basins.

However, there is more to the story that often gets overlooked.

El Niño heats up the planet, thus increasing global temperatures. Moreover, atmospheric circulation patterns (meridional heat transport) ensure that the colder, more polar regions of the planet receive more of the El Niño heat than the tropical / equatorial regions. The difference between the polar and tropical temperatures thereby decreases. What effect does this have on hurricanes? As our colleague Dr. Richard Lindzen notes,

“If the models are correct, global warming reduces the temperature differences between the poles and the equator. When you have less difference in temperature, you have less excitation of extratropical storms, not more. And, in fact, model runs support this conclusion.”

In other words, additional global warming due to a super El Niño should suppress hurricane activity in the Atlantic and the Pacific basins.

Let’s hope for a super El Niño this hurricane season.

We are Defending CO2 in Court and We Need Your Help

The Coalition’s March 20th motion to intervene in the EPA’s repeal of the so-called Endangerment Finding is a response to environmental organizations and several states that filed legal challenges to the EPA repeal, which was announced in February. The agency had concluded that it did not have authority under the federal Clean Air Act to regulate carbon dioxide.

The CO2 Coalition has decided to take aggressive action and use the legal system to fight the economically destructive policies that threaten you and your family.

VETERANS GUN NUT REPORT–

Your member of Congress needs to hear from you! Please call your U.S. Representative today and urge them to vote YES on H.R. 1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act! Please tell them to vote YES on the rule and vote YES on the final passage of the bill. If you don’t know the number for your U.S. Representative, you can reach them at (202) 224-3121.

The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote this week on the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act. This bill (H.R. 1041) would reverse the unconstitutional and deeply troubling policy that stripped veterans of their right to keep and bear arms without due process, simply because they have been assigned a fiduciary to help manage their Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits that they’ve earned through their service to our Nation.

This legislation, sponsored by Chairman Mike Bost (R-IL-12), would allow veterans to receive the benefits and assistance to which they are entitled by their selfless service to our country without the fear of losing their fundamental freedoms of purchasing and possessing firearms.

BAUMAN AND HARLEY-DAVIDSON XG750R TAKE THIRD CONSECUTIVE AFT SUPERTWINS VICTORY AT BUDDS CREEK HALF MILE

Rispoli on Super Hooligan Podium with Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST in MotoAmerica Double-Header at Barber Motorsports Park

MILWAUKEE (May 17, 2026) – Super.com/Rick Ware Racing/Jacob Construction/Parts Plus rider Briar Bauman ran his Mission AFT SuperTwins winning streak to three races with a dominating performance aboard a Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle at the Parts Unlimited ThrottleFest presented by Carter CAT at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Md. Latus Motors Racing/Harley-Davidson/BMC Racing rider Kody Kopp finished fourth aboard a Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle and maintained his series points lead.

In double-header MotoAmerica road racing action at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala., Saddlemen Race Development rider James Rispoli rode race-prepared Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST motorcycle to a third-place finish on Sunday in the fourth race of the 2026 MotoAmerica Mission Foods Super Hooligan National Championship Brought To You By Roland Sands Design and Powered by Harley-Davidson and sits second in series points.

Bauman Stays Hot in AFT SuperTwins

Bauman won his heat race by just 0.201 seconds over Yamaha rider Chad Cose, and before the start of the main event (eight minutes plus two laps) on the Budds Creek half-mile it appeared that Bauman, Cose and Yamaha rider Dallas Daniels would be the top contenders for the win. Bauman elbowed his around Daniels to take the lead on the first lap. Cose also got past Daniels and the two Yamaha racers engaged in a long bar-to-bar battle for second position as Bauman sped away to open a lead that approached three seconds. Kopp trailed Cose and Daniels in fourth place. Bauman was slowed by lapped traffic in the closing laps but still managed to cross the finish line 2.208 seconds clear of Daniels, who passed Cose at the two-minute mark. Kopp held onto fourth place, 4.116 seconds behind Bauman. FRA Trust Advisors rider Aidan RoosEvans raced his Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle to a sixth-place finish.

“There’s something about doing it with a crew you thoroughly enjoy doing it with,” said Bauman following his 37th win in Mission AFT SuperTwins. “We just work at it. We weren’t the quickest all day. We were a bit off. But they turned that thing upside down. I’ll be upfront – we didn’t change a clicker on the motorcycle the last two Nationals except for gearing. And today we threw the toolbox at that thing, and we found it.”

Bauman’s three-race winning streak has tightened the series points race. After six of 16 rounds in the 2026 Mission AFT SuperTwins championship, Kopp leads with 117 points, followed by Daniels with 110 points and Bauman with 108 points.

The 2026 AFT Mission SuperTwins series resumes May 23 at the Appalachian Harley-Davidson Williams Grove Half-Mile at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Rispoli Bounces Back in Super Hooligan

Rispoli, the defending MotoAmerica Super Hooligan champion, put the Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST on the podium with a third-place finish in the Mission Foods Super Hooligan contest on Sunday. After finishing 8th and 9th respectively in the Saturday race, the first for the Super Hooligan series at Barber Motorsports Park, Rispoli and teammate Jake Lewis showed improved pace, running third and fourth for much of the eight-lap race on the 2.380-mile, 17-turn Barber Motorsports Park road course. Rispoli passed Lewis for third place on lap four but could not close the gap on Ducati rider and race winner Gus Rodio. Lewis finished in fifth place on a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST motorcycle.

“I am so stoked to make the podium today,” said Rispoli. “We showed up here with a prototype setup because after we saw how well these boys were riding in the infield at Daytona and knew it might be a struggle for us. The Saddlemen team worked so hard for me. We had two days of testing and three days here, and I made more changes to the motorcycle than I’ve made in the past year and a half. I’m super thankful for the team surrounding me this weekend and never giving up.”

After four of 10 rounds in the 2026 Mission Foods Super Hooligan Championship, Rodio leads the series with 72 points, followed by Rispoli with 65 points, Lewis with 59 points, and Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson rider Cory West with 50 points.

The Mission Foods Super Hooligan Championship resumes June 26-28 at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Wash.

THE THOUGHTS FROM THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAIN–Start Your Morning Right with a Health Plan

“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
— Jim Rohn

Good morning my friends,

Today I want to talk about something many of us neglect until it is too late, our health.

Our bodies need our love and care.

So many people spend years looking after everyone and everything else while ignoring the very body that carries them through life. Then one day they wake up and say, “I wish I would have taken better care of myself when I was younger.”

The truth is, yesterday is gone. But today is still ours.

No matter your age, your past habits, your weight, your limitations, or your excuses, today can be the day you begin again.

I am 72 years old, and I still work at this every single day myself.

Health is not about becoming perfect overnight. It is about making small consistent choices that honor your body, your mind, and your spirit.

Many people think they have to go “full bore” from the start. They think they need an intense workout program, a perfect diet, or dramatic changes all at once. Most times that mindset leads people to quit before they truly begin.

Real transformation happens slowly.

Maybe your first step is simply cleaning the junk food out of your cupboard.

Maybe it is planning your meals so you are not forced to stop at a fast-food place because you did not prepare ahead.

Maybe it is drinking more water.

Maybe it is taking a short walk every morning.

Maybe it is five minutes of stretching.

Maybe it is ten minutes of yoga, meditation, or quiet breathing.

The important thing is not where you start.

The important thing is that you start.

Your body hears everything your mind says about it. If you constantly criticize yourself, compare yourself, or shame yourself, you create resistance instead of healing.

Shift your mindset from punishment to self-care.

Do not exercise because you hate your body.

Move your body because you love it.

Do not eat healthy because you are ashamed.

Nourish yourself because you are worthy.

The greatest changes in life often come from small non-negotiable habits practiced consistently over time.

A healthy life is not built in one day. It is built one choice at a time.

Your morning routine sets the tone for your health journey. Before the stress of the world enters your day, choose one healthy action that tells your mind and body, “I matter.”

You do not need perfection.

You need consistency.

You need patience.

You need belief.

And most importantly, you need to stop waiting for “someday.”

The body you care for today will carry you into your tomorrow.

Know today that you are worthy of health, energy, peace, and vitality. Your Higher Power did not create you to merely survive life, but to live it fully.

One healthy choice today can become a completely different life tomorrow.

And So It Is.

Namaste

Three Contemplative Questions

What is one small healthy habit I could begin today that would positively change my future?

Do I treat my body with criticism and frustration, or with love and gratitude?

If I truly believed my health mattered, what choices would I begin making differently each morning?

WHAT’S NEXT?–

Here’s the deal. About two weeks from now we will roll to Ohio to pick up the Captain America and Billy bikes. We are going to ride them back and shoot it for a video. This is going to be a wild run and we’re going to shoot bike shops all the way back, the H-D museum and a dealership or two.

As I stepped off the plane, Brian from Departure Bike Works called about the Bonne Bell and going to Bonneville this year. See our engine above. He’s working the combustion chambers right now. He wants 6-to-1 compression. That’s the shit for 45 flatheads. We’ve been grappling with thoughts of going to Bonneville. We have yet to consider the weather…

The brother who made our patches is going to deliver them to our door. I got calls from him, from Thailand, but he says he lives down the Street in Sturgis. We will see…

It’s whiskey time.

Ride fast and free, forever!
