THE NEW ISSUE BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS—for June 18th 2026

Hey,

This is another wild Thursday. The new issue was just dropped on my doorstep.

We went through several iterations of the cover to come up with the final.

On Monday we planned a very cool photo shoot with this bike, but transmission problems blew the shoot and we shifted

I wanted to create a cool photo for Danial to turn into a centerspread and he was on hand to direct in Don’s Boulder Canyon studio. Vinnie showed up on his late model bagger, so I jammed home and returned with a funky Panhead. It all worked out like a champ. Here’s a sample.

We will bring you teasers as the centerspread comes together.

Then a brother showed up at the house with two ballcaps to check out. It’s amazing and I immediately ordered a batch for the rally.

The rally’s coming fast and we’re scrambling.

The Easyriders Ticket Trailer is in place in North Carolina. We are about to throw our first rodeo this year.

Let’s hit the news:

The Bikernet News is brought to you by our resilient team: The Redhead, Wayfarer, Danial James, Sturgis Vicky, LA Laura, Palma, Freak Show and Sturgis Prospect Kendra.

AMA Government Relations Updates

Alongside the Congressional Ride to Work Day event in Washington, D.C., the AMA Government Relations Department has been hard at work to preserve our rights as our riders.

AMA Washington Representative Zach Farmer was appointed to the Motorcyclist Advisory Council (MAC) as a representative member. In this role, he will work with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and offer his expertise regarding motorcyclist safety.

The AMA also recently applauded the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (T&I) for advancing the BUILD America 250 Act , a five-year surface transportation reauthorization package that includes important provisions that impact motorcyclists.

After a recent incident of trail sabotage at Montana’s Pipestone Recreation Area, the AMA called for the swift identification, apprehension and prosecution of those responsible.

AMA Grassroots Manager Bob Davis testified in support of Ohio H.B. 776, which would legalize the practice of lane filtering in the Buckeye State, during the bill’s second hearing in front of the Ohio House Transportation Committee on Tuesday, June 2.

On Tuesday, June 9, the AMA Government Relations Department met with officials from the White House and the Department of the Interior to discuss the recent repeal of a pair of Executive Orders that limited access to Federal lands.

Supreme Court Rules Habitual Marijuana Users Can Legally Own Firearms

The court sided with a Texas man who was barred from owning a firearm because of his marijuana use.

Americans who regularly smoke cannabis can own firearms, the Supreme Court decided on June 18. The ruling overturns a section of the Gun Control Act that forbids a person who “is an unlawful user of, or addicted to, any controlled substance’ from owning guns.

The FBI searched the Texas home of suspected drug dealer Ali Danial Hemani in 2022 and found marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, and a Glock 9 mm pistol. Hemani admitted to law enforcement that he smoked weed approximately every other day, but that he was not on drugs during the search.

He was indicted for unlawful possession of the gun, but challenged that, arguing that the wording of the statute was too vague and violated the Second Amendment.

A previous Supreme Court decision, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, said states can enact laws that restrict the right to bear arms, but only when those laws are “consistent with the Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation.”

The government had argued that the statute in question is “analogous to founding-era laws restricting the rights of drunkards.” Hemani’s attorneys countered that the correlation is false, since “‘habitual drunkard’ laws targeted people who regularly abused alcohol, not people who regularly used it,” as with Hemani’s use of cannabis.

“The government’s claim that historical laws targeted habitual drunkards for the same reason §922(g)(3) targets unlawful users—because they regularly use intoxicants—is difficult to square with the historical record,” the majority opinion says.

WE LIKE IT–ALL BALLS RACING IS BACK!

Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by All Balls Racing is almost here!

As one of the largest vintage motorcycle events in the country, VMD is a rider’s paradise, with racing across several disciplines, North America’s largest motorcycle swap meet, vendor displays, stunt shows and much more!

For June’s Question of the Month, let us know if you’ll be attending VMD this year, and if so, what is your favorite part of the event! Enter your answers here.

Last month, we asked our members to tell us who their motorcycling hero is. Here are some of the responses:

“The person who most inspired me was my Dad. Out of nowhere, he took me motorcycle shopping on my 11th birthday in 1969. He wasn’t a rider himself, but he surely noticed the dreamy look on my face when most of my neighborhood friends started getting minibikes and small Hondas. We skipped those and got a used Kawasaki street bike. I’m still on Kawi’s at 68! Thanks again, Dad!” – Toby Moore

“My brother, Patrick. Not only did he teach me to ride motorcycles and bicycles, but also built parts, worked on my race motorcycles, helped me at the events and was my training partner.” – Ted Arment

“Dick Mann.” – Brian Pearce

“Roger De Coster.” – Erik Merrill

“Triumph test rider, Percy Tait.” – David Patterson

THIS JUST IN FROM THE LOWBROW GANG–The Devil Is In The Details…

And here at Lowbrow we have the experience AND spend the time needed to make the best parts possible.

We just finished up a new Fork Neck Cup Kit with Integrated Fork Stops. This works perfectly for putting a 39mm Narrowglide front end on a Gasbox Full Frame (for either Sportster or Big Twin) as well as any Harley Big Twin frame.

Originally, this style neck cup was a Harley part for some 1988-99 Softails, and there are various versions available out there from other companies.

However, none of them was built to last… until now.

AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2026

The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame announced the six distinguished motorcyclists that will be inducted into its hallowed halls during the 2026 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sept. 10 in Pickerington, Ohio.

The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2026 includes Russell Bobbitt, Damon Bradshaw, Eraldo Ferracci, Jake Johnson, Gary Sellers and Dale Walker.

“Induction into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame is among the highest honors our sport can bestow — a recognition reserved for those who have truly shaped the course of motorcycling,” AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman said. “Russell, Damon, Eraldo, Jake, Gary, and Dale have each done exactly that. Through their achievements, their passion and their lasting contributions to our community, they have moved motorcycling forward for every rider who follows. We look forward to welcoming them into the Hall of Fame and celebrating their legacies at the Induction Ceremony this September.”

Trained Thought: My Good Is Unfolding Today

“What the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” — Napoleon Hill

Nearly one hundred years ago, Napoleon Hill published the timeless classic Think and Grow Rich. Throughout the book, one message echoes again and again: conceive it, believe it, and you will achieve it. Such a simple statement, yet it holds tremendous power.

One of my favorite quotes from Hill is, “What the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” I have read that book many times over the past forty years. Interestingly, it wasn’t until about the third reading that I truly began to understand the message. It took a few more readings before I started putting it into practice.

One of the more challenging aspects of this Teaching is recognizing that the responsibility for improving our lives rests with us. Sometimes I wish we could operate like a computer—simply deleting old viruses and faulty programming, then replacing them with right thinking. Yet many of the beliefs and behaviors we practice today began years, even decades, ago. Changing them requires intention, patience, and persistence.

One of the spiritual exercises I practice each day is reading a list of the things I intend to be, do, and have. As new desires emerge, I add them to the list. As goals are realized, I celebrate them with gratitude and release them. Clear and definite intentions, repeatedly impressed upon the mind, help move our dreams from the invisible realm into visible experience. When we combine these intentions with faith in Divine Law, the process of unfoldment deepens even further.

Ernest Holmes wrote, “Trained thought is more powerful than untrained thought.” Our minds naturally drift toward old habits, worry, and limitation unless we consciously direct them. Today, let us choose to train our thinking toward possibility, gratitude, abundance, and love.

Today Know:

Today, I commit to holding good thoughts in my mind.

I have faith and trust in Divine Law to manifest all the good I recognize as my Truth. I look no farther than within for all the good I could ever desire. I trust the Divine Presence to reveal and express good throughout my day.

I remind myself of where I am going by reading my list of what I will be, do, and have. I am grateful, for my good is unfolding today, and I love the results.

My life is Divinely filled with love, joy, peace, health, wealth, and an abundance of good. I know there is enough good to share and to spare, and it is God’s gift to all of us to receive and accept.

Today is an unconditional gift, and I accept it unconditionally.

And So It Is.

Namaste’

“A disciplined mind brings happiness.” — Buddha

Contemplative Questions

What thoughts have I been practicing that no longer support the life I desire to create?

What would I add to my list of what I intend to be, do, and have if I truly believed all things were possible?

How can I consciously train my mind today to focus on gratitude, faith, and the good that is already unfolding?

Think with intention, believe with faith, and act with gratitude as your good unfolds.

Thanks

LONG ROAD UPDATE

Hey everyone! On the first batch of e-mails I sent out to the first 3 years of riders, I forgot to mention something and request your assistance. I’m doing a little notation on the back of at least one Long Road rider who passed last year, Brenda Murray. The last one I did was the 2016 shirt as we’d had four riders in the first few years who had passed and I wanted to make mention of them. If any of you know of any LR riders who have passed away since 2016, please let me know. I’d like to get their name on the shirt.

Thanks

THEN IT HAPPENED–I was minding my own business, when…

The art director called. She wanted me to write copy for our new Baseball shirts. This task was a breeze. Is that classic art or what. No one on the planet caught what we were all about more than Hal Robinson and David Mann.

This is a kick. The Redhead made me take this Coleman camp cot in the back to the van to Ohio. We drove straight through from Sturgis to the bottom of Ohio. We rotated driving and I threw one of Edge’s Real Deal Bedrolls onto the cot for the perfect nap escape.

This is the latest from Mondo at Denver’s Choppers. The staff voted to feature this long bike tribute. There’s always something happening around the ER, Bikernet and 5-Ball Racing Headquarters. I’m registering to go to Bonneville after the rally. Hang on!

Ride fast and free, forever!
