Hey,
A potential Easyriders Reader asked me if we were going PC. Easyriders never went PC. They did go sorta Yuppie for a spell, but we always stood for freedom and the American Way or the Code of the West. I’ve had a lot of push-back and struggles. Hell, I want to stop women from being raped and kids from being abducted and someone said, “It’s the holiday issue, don’t do it.” Wow.
Okay, so fuck it. For every negative wave there’s a ton of opportunities flying at us. Check out all the new merch in the Easyriders shop. Check our Sara above on Vinnie’s pool table, covered only in his vast collection of kidney belts. Don’t miss the next issue.

Chantrella is coming to our ER blog next week with a new photographer, Taylor. And if you didn’t think that was enough, I spoke to our genius web guy who has discovered a way we can add a search feature to our 55 years of archives. It could be happening in the next month or so. Maybe a major Xmas present.

And hang on for next year. We are wrapping up a Screenplay about a rider who comes back from WWI and just wants to run his dealership and race on board tracks. Even this guy gets shit from his ol’ lady and staff.
Let’s hit the news. We’ve got major surprises just for you.

The Bikernet Weekly News was created by our non-stop, never give up staff: The Redhead, Wayfarer, LA Laura, Viscous Vickie, Danial James, Freak Show Team, Sturgis Prospect Kendra, Paul Davis, Agent Zebra and Berry Wardlaw.

Yungblud (Dominic Harrison) broke his leg in a dirt-bike/motorcycle accident at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota in early August 2026, shortly before performing. He still played the set (and later European festival dates), appeared with the injury on social media (“Leg fucked. Still giggin”), performed in a wheelchair, and even crowd-surfed in one. His “Idols” world tour continued.

GET OUT AND VOTE–I don’t give a fuck how you feel about Trump. The other guys are trying to destroy the west, the American way, freedom, you name it. If we don’t vote we are going to get pure corruption and control. So, get off your ass and vote. Then go have a whiskey and say to yourself, “I did something for Freedom and the American Way.”
I read the other day: This is not just a vote for one party or another. We’re at war and your vote is a bullet to the other side. Polish that motherfucker and use it.

COPTOBERFEST COMES TO –Daytona Biketoberfest Main Street
Four Wheel Vehicles have been banned from Main Street in Daytona Beach during Bike Week and Biketoberfest for some time and Slingshots since 2025.
2026 Brought even more changes, here is what the city and other media posted.
Barriers on Main Street in Daytona Beach During Biketoberfest
During Biketoberfest, Daytona Beach uses meridian barriers and police‑deployed barricades to manage traffic, protect pedestrians, and restrict vehicle access on Main Street.
How barriers are used
According to the City of Daytona Beach’s official Biketoberfest FAQ, the city’s goal is to deploy Meridian barriers at all events that require street closures. These are portable, mesh‑type barriers designed to separate event areas from public traffic and to control vehicle movement
Because the city does not own these barriers, it must request them from assisting agencies. If they are unavailable, Daytona Beach Police will use existing resources — such as standard barricades and officer positioning — to maintain safety
Police and traffic management
Daytona Beach Police and Volusia County deputies set up barricades and strategic positioning in busy areas like Main Street and Midtown to manage traffic flow and protect pedestrians
Officers are spaced to accommodate most motorcycles and trikes, and plainclothes and undercover officers are also deployed during the event
Police have confirmed that barricades are in place to help manage traffic and that additional measures will be taken if needed
Vehicle restrictions
Main Street is closed to cars, trucks, and certain vehicles during Biketoberfest. Slingshots and similar three‑wheeled “autocycles” are prohibited because they are wider than trikes and do not meet the “motorcycles only” criteria.
These restrictions are enforced with the same protocols as during Bike Week, and meridian barriers are again in place to safeguard the venue from unauthorized vehicles
Safety and crowd control
The event draws about 125,000 riders and generates significant traffic. Barricades and barriers are part of a broader safety plan that includes enhanced patrols, DUI enforcement, and pedestrian safety measures.
Daytona Beach Police emphasize that these measures are proactive, visible, and ready to respond to any issues
In short: Expect Meridian barriers where available, plus police‑deployed barricades, to control access and protect pedestrians on Main Street during Biketoberfest, along with strict vehicle restrictions for safety and crowd management .
Comments On Facebook Are Always Interesting So Here Are Some.
I cant figure out why they are doing this other than optics. They obviously spent a lot of money on the barricades and they look brand new. I think they are just trying to show the public they are thinking about safety. But using them as a traffic control device in this manner isn’t what they are supposed to be used for. They are barricades, not lane designators. I think if you hit one you would probably win a lawsuit.
The slingshots with the open wheels and more are dangerous in crowds with motorcycles. It’s a car. That’s why the width rules.
if you can’t figure it out you must not be very bright.
These are to stop people from being able to drive into crowds, you know, like has happened at multiple major events all over the country? No one wants cars and big ass trikes on Main Street anyway.
Trying to run bike weeks out
Almost most trikes fit thru there mainly for slingshots and the cars
I saw some that wouldn’t fit get turned away. I saw a guy with a huge sidecar and he couldn’t fit. They waved him on but he had to turn around.
Saw a guy today on a freewheeler hit one of the barriers hard. Did some damage
It Sucks, my trike is wider than that because of wide tires in the back.
I watched a guy with his girl on the back side swipe one of those heavy barricades last night by the cemetery. I’m surprised he didn’t fall. It moved a couple feet, those things are heavy
Honda Roadsmith trikes will have a hard time with those barricades. Only 1-1/2 clearance on each side.
The barricades are only 3 inches wider than trike. That is a tight fit for anyone riding one.
I was on the back of our normal size Harley Trike and thought we wouldn’t make it through! A couple more inches would’ve been nice! And I think if a car really wanted to plow through, it could still find a way!
what’s the purpose of the cones in the first place? Seems extremely excessive in the amount and restrictive, not gonna stop a 2-ton vehicle
Well there you go people, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS?

THE NEW MODEL LINE-UP–Harley is leaning into more affordable and traditional options under CEO Artie Starrs’ “Back to the Bricks” plan (announced earlier in 2026). The two biggest entry-level stories are:Sprint 440 (2027)
This is the most actively teased new model right now. It’s an entry-level cruiser developed with Hero MotoCorp (India) on the same platform as the existing X440 roadster.
Expected to use the air/oil-cooled 440 cc single (~27 hp / 38 Nm) with a 6-speed gearbox.
Styling is classic Harley cruiser: long/low stance, teardrop tank, deeply scooped seat, round headlight, swept-back bars, and forward controls (distinct from the more upright X440).
Manufactured in India; it could be the first X440-platform bike exported more widely.
Global unveiling is widely expected at EICMA 2026 (November in Milan). India launch targeted for early 2027.
Pricing targets have shifted—earlier talk of sub-$6,000 has given way to “under $10,000” in the U.S. context. U.S. availability is not confirmed (Asia-Pacific markets like the Philippines and Malaysia are mentioned more prominently).

Air-cooled Sportster 883 revival (2027)
Harley confirmed the return of a traditional air-cooled Evolution V-twin Sportster (the 883, not the old 1200).
Dropped after 2022; this is the most-requested model from riders and dealers.
Target price around $10,000 in the U.S.
Built at the York, Pennsylvania plant for the U.S. market.
Full details (exact styling, emissions updates, etc.) are still pending later announcements.
Other 2027 hints include ST variants (Road King ST, plus non-CVO Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST), a possible Super Glide return on the Softail platform, and general refreshes. Harley has set up accessory pages suggesting many 2026 models will continue with updates.

Big Year for Indian
Indian MotorcycleIndian (now operating more independently after Polaris sold a major stake) is heading to EICMA 2026 (press conference November 3) as an independent brand for the first time. It will give a business update and show the first wave of MY2027 models. Europe has been a bright spot—strong growth in markets like Romania (+60.7%), Poland (+52.6%), and the UK (+39.4%).The main confirmed change so far is a major simplification of the Scout lineup for 2027. EPA filings indicate it will drop from roughly 15–17 variants down to six:
- 101 Scout
- Scout Bobber and Scout Bobber Limited
- Sport Scout Limited
- Super Scout Limited
- Scout Sixty Bobber
This means the Scout Classic, the relatively new Sport Scout RT (with its bags and quarter fairing), most +Tech trims, and most smaller-displacement variants are expected to be discontinued. Features from the +Tech packages are likely folded into the remaining Limited models. Indian has not officially confirmed the full cut yet, but the certification data is clear. The Chief Vintage (a more retro 1940s-style Chief) was an early new model under the independent structure. More MY2027 news is expected at EICMA, focused on the Scout, Chief, and PowerPlus (bagger/tourer) platforms.Bottom line: Harley is pushing accessible entry points (Sprint 440 + revived 883 Sportster) while Indian is streamlining the Scout family and using EICMA to show its first independent-year 2027 models. Most of the big reveals are still a few weeks away at EICMA. Want specs, expected pricing comparisons, or more on any specific model?

WE RESEARCHED RAGLAND–Why it exists / brief history
The style is named after FitzRoy Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan, a British army officer who lost an arm at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. A tailor designed a coat with continuous sleeves that reached the collar so he could dress himself more easily and have freer arm movement. The design later became popular in sportswear and casual clothing because of the extra mobility and comfort.
Typical looks and benefits
- Often features contrasting sleeves (classic baseball tee look: white body + colored sleeves).
- Available in short, ¾, and long sleeves.
- More room for arm movement and a slightly more athletic or relaxed silhouette compared with standard set-in sleeve tees.
- Popular for sports, layering, and casual everyday wear.
In short: if you see “Ragland” on a T-shirt description, it means the raglan sleeve style—the one with the diagonal seams from neck to underarm (the classic baseball-tee look).

FROM THE KIWI FILES–Davenport is the original meet of the AMCA and it’s been held just before Labor Day weekend every year. Over the years it grew to be the granddaddy of all the AMCA swap meets and this year it was good to see the Davenport board made the call to go back to the original start date of Thursday, rather than Wednesday.
It was a shame when the AMCA and Davenport Club split and it seems the AMCA sees war with Davenport to the point of the executive director even publicly stating a goal to bury them. To me, all of the antique motorcycle organizations need to band together and unite to make it stronger rather than split people into smaller factions for the sake of ego or presumed power. They all ought to come together and make the antique motorcycle scene stronger.
I’m all for making our antique scene healthy and I don’t know who is at fault (who cares?) but the executive director is taking the wrong approach stoking the fire and creating more division. And if some of the AMCA board are backing that approach, then shame on them. When I look at some of the board members it seems the AMCA gives them ego power. Take that away and they have nothing to bring to the table.
So who’s going to be the first to put on their big boy pants and unite us? I’ll call out the executive director to be the lead dog. Let’s all row this boat in the same direction together.
Remember “united we stand, divided we fall.” Meanwhile, Kiwi Indian shall continue to make a positive impact on the antique motorcycle scene.

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?–Don’t forget to support the Love Ride in Los Angeles. And the SEMA show is coming up.

SEMA is embracing custom bikes in the builder competition and it’s being supported by Harley-Davidson and Easyriders Magazine.

The leaves are turning like crazy and the deer love it. They snatch the leaves the minute they fall from the rustling limbs. We survived re-coating the deck just in the nick of time. The bros promised to coat the shop before it starts to snow but they’re burnin’ daylight, said they would be here today–oops. They made it in the afternoon, 2/3s done.

What the fuck, let’s break out the Whiskey and party, but first I need to meet with the bean counter, the YouTube Prince and our very bright Penny about the sweepstakes for next year.
Don’t forget to Vote, please.
So we can continue to ride fast and free forever!
