Weekly News

Hey, Hang on. We have a challenging question today. Motorcycle sales are down all across the board. Sure, we know about Harley and all their recalls, but all sales are down in general. I received a report that last year two Japanese manufacturers sold 27,000 sport bikes. This year they sold 6,000. I’ve been told

Hey, This news is packed with interesting shit. You can’t say we don’t give you controversial elements to ponder between working on bikes, chasing broads, and whiskey. Just don’t over do it. Recent news flash. Paisano Publications boss, Joe Teresi, recently sold the Easyriders buildings. The two 10,000 square foot buildings were once packed with

Hey, Never a dull moment. Life is so nuts, but we bang along and try to keep the party alive. Maybe it’s the nature of the beast. We were discussing clubs the other day. Most of the violent guys from my era are dead or still in jail. You would think the new

Hey, This is going to be good. There’s so much going on in the Custom Oz, and more than a handful of critical items in the air, but it feels good today. For a moment there’s a calm between storms. Let’s hit the news. The Bikernet Las Vegas Editor’s Choice award, sponsored by Cycle Source,

Hey, Hopefully the brothers are flying towards Vegas on their Dynas, one sporting a new set of Samson Pomona duals. This bring up a topic. A few years ago I saw an ongoing need for an industry council to fight government intervention back. We approached SEMA and they wanted us to sell booths at their

Hey, There’s nothing like the wind in your hair and an open road. There’s nothing like the sense of accomplishment when you roll your project bike into the sun and fire it to life. In a sense any new technology helping us to meet our goals is a good thing. But technology should be a

Hey, This is an interesting one? George Christie has one more episode. Folks called me and asked me to watch the last one, because I was there. Holy buckwheat. Bikernet is about to turn 20 and most folks don’t realize how tenuous running a business is. From day to day there are major ups and

Hey, I had a twisted thought the other day. The topic of homeless folks comes up on a regular basis in the ghetto here on the Port of Los Angeles. The locals want them to move on and the city government takes a supportive view, like, “So, what the hell are we going to do

Hey, Life is whacked as you will see in the news. Half the world is at war. Our government can’t get along with anyone. Religions are constantly on the attack, when they are supposed to be compassionate and forgiving. And peace and harmony are constantly at our fingertips. Bikers are the monks of the earth.

Hey, Another strange day in Paradise. I receive negative industry reports once in a while, from bullshit to legitimate complaints, most of which I don’t post. If I feel it’s straight-forward I share it with the company or shop, so they have the opportunity to correct the error. There’s a major reason I don’t blab

Hey, This will be one of the wildest news columns ever produced on Bikernet. But first I must apologize. I have a tough time learning Facebook, and every time I go there I don’t know what the hell, or how to deal with all that’s going on? Okay, I need a tutorial, or I need

Hey, This is going to be good. Sturgis is behind us. And over the last couple of months I’ve had the privilege of roaming through about seven, maybe eight states. Holy shit, but I’ll bet Ray C. Wheeler has me beat by a long shot. Just returned from Oregon with the Redhead of Redheads. She’d

Hey, Sturgis is winding down, and it’s been a wild one. The final Cycle Source event smacks the Broke Spoke today at the Editor’s Choice show and Bikernet is a sponsor. We will feature one of the bikes. Hell, I still need to work with Jeff Cochran on his feature for Bikernet and the HORSE.

HEY,  Bandit’s still on the loose somewhere in the Black Hills or in the Badlands. I’m scrambling as he would say. We talked about an article he wants to run on the trikes of Sturgis. Send us your trike shots from Sturgis and you may see your trike on Bikernet.       And

Hey, This is one of those days. I’m scrambling to the Badlands, but I’m sure you run into similar action-planning maladies. As soon as you decide to hit the road, the water heater craps out, the dog dies, the cat has kittens, and a family member gets arrested. Hang on. And don’t forget the over-flowing

Hey, It’s that time of year. It’s nuts. I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking about the run to the Badlands in February during the Cincy V-Twin Show. My two biggest events of the year include V-Twin and Sturgis. Then of course the SmokeOut is my eastern player. This year the scramble has a

Hey, I often say, “Life is Nuts.” But recently it took on a whole new meaning. I don’t even know where to start. More and more the upcoming election is critical to our survival. If we fixed one thing, it would save our economy for generations and send a strident message to everyone from politicians

Hey, This is wild. I’m trying to scramble and write my SmokeOut Story, and then Born Free exploded and Michael Lichter stayed at the vast and unrelenting Bikernet Headquarters during his assigned duty days for various magazines. Each day returned to the Ivory Tower on the Port of Los Angeles and down loaded his day’s

Hey, How the hell does shit happen so fast. It does and we need to stay alert and constantly on the move. If not, we’re burnin’ daylight. Last weekend I was in Rockingburg, NC at the sizzling SmokeOut on the east coast and this weekend, it’s Born Free on the West Coast. We had a

Hey,   So Bandit is long gone at the SmokeOut and the Bikernet Galaxy is resting on my shoulders. Solely? Not quite, but getting the News in order and set up the way it should be is all on me. I could piss and moan about how much work it is(because it is). But

Hey, Another strange day in Paradise. Not sure where to start. This is a day of change and awakening. Here’s our new Salt Torpedo art, and Atomic Bob is working on a cartoon version of the actual streamlined trike as we go to press. I will bring you sketches as he submits them. This couple,

Hey, I wish I knew what the hell I’m doing. I stumbled into Bennett’s Performance on Signal Hill yesterday and Eric Bennett said, “What the hell Bandit. Did you ever imagine Harleys built to look like dirt bikes?” His shop was packed with FXRs and many were set up with tall shocks and taller front

Hey, Guys are cutting hands off in Syria for minor infractions and beheading Christians, and in Hawaii the governor wants to Ban Motorcycles for loud pipes that save lives. You know it’s fascinating in a very obscure way. Folks can always look at something from multiple directions. Loud pipes to a citizen could be annoying

Hey, Strange days in paradise. Suddenly clubs are on the scene again. I had a notion a few years back about clubs getting together, stopping the bullshit, and then starting a WWF type of organization where the various clubs would compete in the ring, and make money. It could be amazing and very profitable for
