This is a strange year. I think so much of it has to do with technology, the economy, and our stinking, sinking government. The vibe is off kilter and technology doesn’t afford us a New York second to breath. Even my dogs look at me with a questioning gaze, “What’s going on, boss?” They growl and pace the deck.
Unlike so many folks in society, we have the answer. Turn off the cell phone, and the computer and go for a ride. Air it out disconnected from the madness. We’ll do our damnest here at Bikernet to keep the faith, and the American dream for truth, justice, and the American way ALIVE.
Let’s hit the news, then fire up the barbeque, go for a ride or make margaritas?
A VOTE FOR FUEL ADDITIVES– I was looking up Oxytane on Google when I ran across this site. I have and still use Oxytane. I have many different cars from stock to performance. I too am very sceptical about additives. I was told just put it in and see if you notice anything. I ran it in a Harley I had on the dyno. It picked up 2 HP. I tried it in my ’98 Eldorado prior to a Calif smog check. Comparing to the last two checks it got way better on emissions.
We put it in a Performance Camaro we have. We move it in and out of the shop a lot and dont drive it. It never gets to warm up or get out of the cold start mode and will start to fouled plugs. Since Oxytane it has never done that.
Oxytane is not a cure all but it does make a difference. If it was given to you. It would not hurt to try it. Just my take on it.

ESCAPE TO PRIMM NEVEDA– For our Sturgis trip Teresa and I stayed in Primm at Buffalo Bills both up and back. The room rate was only $14 each night. That comes out to about $450 a month. Considering maid service, cheap food, free wireless Internet, cable TV, etc… We’re considering moving there full time!

WHAT IS AN ECONOMIC STIMULS PAYMENT?–Sometime this year, we taxpayers may again receive an Economic Stimulus payment. This is a very exciting new program. I will explain it using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers..
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:
* If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China .
* If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.
* If you purchase a computer, it will go to India .
* If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala .
* If you buy a car, it will go to Japan .
* If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan .
* If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.
Instead, keep the money in America by:
1 spending it at yard sales, or
2 going to ball games, or

4 beer or
5 tattoos.

THE TEXAS REPORT FROM RIGID FRAME RICHARD– Several things have been taking place here in Texas, I am no longer working at the club, hated to leave but my knee just kept getting worse. I believe I told you about tearing up my knee, getting it fixed & then about a month later re-injuring it at work, running to a fight in the parking lot on a Sunday! Hopefully those sexy ladies will still remember me, and hell who knows what will happen next year? I miss the girlies.
The Le Para the roads in Houston Suck, even the new ones! So I figured after 10 years it was time to put some springs under my butt, so I got the small Le Pera solo seat, a universal mounts and some springs (which I had, in a plastic Ziploc bag) and mounted it all on the Little Red Rigid. Besides being ugly as hell, the springs, which I have had since ’94, are not heavy duty and while it sits level, it slanted backwards when my big ass got on it and the mount is not wide enough so one of the springs was angled. So I am back to my Bare Bones. The Devil showed me the springs he uses on his solo seat bikes, which are twice as heavy, so it may still happen. Still be ugly though!
Took both bike out today, I may not have springs but she sure likes to run, so when are we too old to ride rigids?

California – Two members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club were arrested Friday morning after a Forestville woman reported the theft of some marijuana plants from her backyard– The two East Bay men were stopped in a car on River Road in Fulton by Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies responding to the theft about six miles away on Trenton Road, authorities said.
The victim said she had been growing the plants in her backyard for medicinal purposes, the sheriff’s department said.
She called for help shortly after 6 a.m. saying two men with machetes were in her backyard taking the plants, the sheriff’s department said.
As they were leaving, she got a vehicle description, which deputies converging on River Road used to pinpoint the suspects’ vehicle, authorities said.
Several plants measuring an average of 6-feet-tall were seized as evidence when deputies stopped the car, officials said.
The two men were arrested for suspicion of felony theft, as well as possession and transportation of marijuana.
The suspects are Jeffrey McThorn, 30, of Newark, and Shalako Irons, 39, of Oakland. They were held in the Sonoma County Jail with bail of $10,000 each.
Both identified themselves as members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, authorities said.

GUN OWNERS TELL MAYORS THE TRUTH ABOUT MAYORS AGAINST ILLEGAL GUNS– When New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino–both virulently anti-gun mayors–formed a new anti-gun group a few years ago, they envisioned the creation of a powerful force to lobby for new gun control laws. But in assembling their coalition, they failed to take two important things into account: first, the response of gun owners to this new threat, and second, that many mayors would not take kindly to being misled regarding the real purpose of Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG.)
Over the past few years, even as they continue to claim they are only concerned with “illegal” guns, MAIG has worked to impose new restrictions on law-abiding gun owners by regulating guns shows, supporting reckless lawsuits against the firearm industry, and opposing the right of self-defense for law-abiding Americans with carry permits. Mayor Bloomberg, who sets the agenda for this radical group, is dedicated to the passage of highly restrictive gun laws. In an appearance on “Meet the Press,” Bloomberg announced that he would raise money to counter the influence of the NRA.
But there is a growing glitch in Bloomberg’s plan. More and more mayors are discovering the real purpose of MAIG, and are removing their names from the group’s list. After hearing from their constituents, over 40 mayors have resigned from the group since it’s inception.
OHIO TECHNICAL COLLEGE CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF AUTOMOTIVE TRAINING– CLEVELAND, Ohio – A lot has changed in the world of automotive technology since 1969, with V8 muscle cars making way for high-tech hybrids and the days of do-it-yourself repairs being replaced by professional technician service. The same holds true for leading automotive school Ohio Technical College, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary as a premier provider of hands-on technical training.
This milestone anniversary marks the transformation of the technical school from a single, second-floor building location to an 800,000-square-foot campus in two Ohio cities.
Ohio Technical College (OTC) began in 1969 as the Ohio Diesel Mechanics School, conducting six -week diesel training courses in Cleveland’s Warehouse district. Founded by Julius Brenner, the school began hitting its many growth spurts in 1971 as the demand for diesel tech training grew at a rapid pace and students moved into a larger facility to accommodate proper equipment.
From that day in the early 1970s, the school hasn’t stopped expanding, changing its name several times – first to the Ohio Diesel Technical Institute, then to Ohio Auto/Diesel Technical Institute and the Ohio Auto Diesel Technical College – before deciding on Ohio Technical College in September 1997 to reflect its mission to provide premier technical training in the world of modern mechanics.
There were several key advancements in OTC’s curriculum that allowed the school to meet the needs of employers and future employees alike, including:
* The addition of an Automotive Technology program in 1984.
* The combination of the Diesel Technician and Automotive Programs to create a comprehensive Master Technician program.
* In 1989, a building purchase added 500,000 square feet to the complex and the school created the Motorcycle and Small Engine Training Program.
* In 1993, the college was one of 133 technical schools nationwide to participate in the Federal Governments New Direct Loan Program.
* The Associate of Technical Studies in Automotive and Diesel was approved in 1994, adding well-rounded academic credentials to help graduates advance to management positions.
* In 2000, BMW of North America partnered with OTC to provide a level II factory training program: The FAST Track Program (Factory Advanced Skilled Training). The first level I Service Technician Education Program (S.T.E.P) class was added two years later.
* The first High Performance and Racing and Alternative Fuel Technology classes began in 2003, complete with an in-ground dynamometer.
Today, Julius’ son Marc Brenner serves as president of OTC while his grandson Jordan Brenner is the admissions/marketing manager of this family-owned school. More than 1,000 students are enrolled and 190 full-time employees work at the college. Newly purchased buildings and houses are being converted into classrooms and parking lots to expand the campus footprint.
Most recently, the school’s branch campus PowerSports Institute (PSI) has moved into a 210,000-square-foot facility in nearby North Randall, Ohio, to provide technical training on motorcycles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, ATVs and more.
Drawing students from all over the country, OTC is an Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) college. Students can choose from a wide variety of technician training programs in Automotive, Diesel, Auto-Diesel, Collision Repair, Classic Car Restoration and PowerSport Technology as well as specialization in High Performance and Racing, BMW, Alternative Fuel Vehicles, CDL Truck Driver Training, Custom Paint and Graphics, Power Generator Systems and a 12-month Welding Program partnered with Lincoln Electric.
