DATE RAPE DRUG THAT’S LESS TALKED ABOUT– Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink by any woman.

Many females use a date-rape-drug on the market called ‘ Beer’ .

The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, or from taps and in large kegs

Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and sleep with them.

A woman needs only to get a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no-strings-attached sex.

Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several Beers , men will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted.

After drinking Beer , men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that ‘something bad’ occurred.

At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life’s savings, in a familiar scam known as ‘a relationship’. In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as ‘marriage’.

Men are much more susceptible to this scam after Beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.

Please forward this warning to every male you know.

If you fall victim to this ‘ Beer’ scam and the women administering it, there are male support groups where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter with similarly victimized men.

For the support group nearest you, just look up ‘Golf Courses’ in the phone book.

BIKERNET BLONDE MOMENT–A blonde woman was having financial troubles so she decided to kidnap a child and demand a ransom. She went to a local park, grabbed a little boy, took him behind a tree and wrote a note:

“I have kidnapped your child. I am sorry to do this but I need the money. Leave $10,000 in a plain brown bag behind the big oak tree in the park at 7AM .” Signed, “The Blonde.” She pinned the note inside the little boy’s jacket and told him to go straight home.

The next morning, she returned to the park, and to her great relief, found the $10,000 in a brown bag behind the big oak tree, just as she had instructed. Inside the bag with the cash was the following note: “Here is your money. But I just cannot believe that one blonde would do this to another.”

NOTE FROM THE QUICK THROTTLE MAGAZINE PUBLISHER– Publisher’s Note – Well I thought I’d been producing this magazine so long that nothing could surprise me, but I was wrong – the Sons of Anarchy issue has flown off the shelves, in some areas within one day of delivery. Considering we ship to over 1,000 locations in CA and the Southwest alone, that’s really saying something. (If you didn’t get one, don’t worry, see below).

With all due humility, it IS a solid issue this month. There’s a heavyweight bagger shootout, the 2010 Harleys, tons of Biker News, the Sturgis Rally coverage, and a LOT more. And bonus – my picture only appears once…

We’ll see ya out there,

National Gun Registration And Waiting Period Are Goals Of New “Gun Show” Study — Despite California’s bans on “assault weapons,” “unsafe” handguns, private gun sales, and sales of two handguns in a 30-day period; its 10-day waiting period on all gun sales; and its denial of carry permits to people who don’t have the right connections, the Golden State’s murder and robbery rates are 12 and 20 percent higher, respectively, than in the rest of the country.

Nevertheless, the Brady Campaign calls California’s “assault weapon” ban “a model for the nation,” and gives the state a high “grade” just for having more gun control than other states. Washington, D.C.’s city council adopted California’s “assault weapon” ban and “unsafe handgun” ban whole cloth in January, backtracking on handguns this summer only in the face of court challenges.

And then there’s Garen Wintemute, of the University of California (Davis), who in September released another of his “studies” in favor of gun control. His new piece is called “Inside Gun Shows: What Goes On When Everybody Thinks Nobody’s Watching.”

Triggering The Vote!

With each election, Americans go to the polls and make decisions that affect — for better or worse — the future of freedom in America.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 72 percent (142 million) of the eligible voting age citizen population (197 million) were registered to vote in 2004. This means that as many as 55 million people were eligible to vote, but unregistered-and therefore did not participate in the November 2004 elections. Far too many gun owners and hunters are among them.

2009 Gun Rights Policy Conference:

This year’s Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 25, 26, 27, at the beautiful Airport Renaissance hotel. The theme of this year’s conference is “Challenges Ahead.”

RIDLEY BANNER

Ridley Welcomes New Licensee for Ridley Genuine Parts– (Okla. City, Okla.-09/04/09) Ridley Motorcycle Company today welcomed 2 Wheel Ventures, LLC. as the company’s OEM parts licensee. This is the second license arrangement the two companies have formed since 2007, when 2 Wheel Ventures became the Ridley brand apparel licensee.

As license holder, 2 Wheel Ventures is now entitled to produce, market and distribute Ridley branded OEM parts, accessories, publications, and apparel.

“Since 2007, we have seen 2 Wheel Ventures successfully focus on and expand the Ridley line of apparel. Their ability to nurture and develop business with our dealers, and motorcycle owners has impressed us.” said Ridley Motorcycle Company President Clay Ridley. “This opportunity will allow Ridley Motorcycle to focus on our line of automatic motorcycles and in the development of other motorcycle technologies.”

ridley 1903

Clay Ridley founded Ridley Motorcycle Company in Oklahoma City in 1995. This year marks the company’s 15th anniversary. They have established a thriving international market allowing riders to bike without clutching, shifting and other outdated chores of the road.

“This is a great opportunity for both companies,” said Jay Ridley. “The Ridley parts business has continued to grow exponentially even in these tough economic conditions. I am excited to see this relationship expanded and truly believe it is a move in the right direction to ensure the future of Ridley Motorcycle Company and parts availability for Ridley Owners.”

Jay Ridley co-founded Ridley Motorcycle Company with his father, Clay Ridley. In June 2009, Jay Ridley joined 2 Wheel Ventures as consultant and has recently been appointed as the company’s President.

Ridley Automatic Motorcycles are the world’s only line of fully-automatic motorcycles. Ridley’s Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) allows the rider to cruise without manual shifting or clutching.

Study points to fats, carbs as ‘brain food’– Sep 3, 2009 By Gary Sheftick WASHINGTON (Army News Service, Sept. 3, 2009) — A high-fat diet, at least for a few days, could enhance mental performance, according to a study unveiled Tuesday.

“Nutritional Effects on Cognitive Performance” examined how various diets affected 45 pilots. After four days, pilots on both high-fat and high-carbohydrate diets performed significantly better than those on a high-protein diet.

Results of the study were briefed this week at the Military Health Research Forum in Kansas City, a scientific gathering hosted by the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. A number of the 500 researchers in attendance from the military, industry and academia were surprised at the results.

“We were surprised too,” said Dr. Glenda Lindseth, the study’s lead researcher, during an interview Wednesday. “It wasn’t what we anticipated.”

Lindseth admitted that some of her colleagues were even “a little bit troubled” by the findings.

But there was no mistaking the outcome.

Pilots on the high-fat diet scored about 50 percent better than those on the high-protein diet. They also scored about 20 percent better than pilots on the “control” or well-balanced diet.

After four days to a week on a particular diet, pilots were tested on a full-motion flight simulator. Their short-term memory was also tested by the Sternberg Item Recognition Test and their spatial orientation was evaluated by the Vandenberg Mental Rotation Test.

After the tests, participants were then randomly rotated into one of the other three diets. After four days to a week, they were tested again.

Pilots on the high-carbohydrate diet also scored more than 40 percent higher than those on the high-protein diet. They had better reaction times and improved memory.

In addition, pilots on the high-protein diet experienced irritability and high anxiety levels, Lindseth said. And they were not able to sleep as well as the other pilots.

Lindseth pointed out that all of the diets were actually balanced as far as the minimum daily required amount of nutrients and about the same amount of calories. However, the high-fat diet consisted of about 57 percent fatty foods, including whole milk, mashed potatoes and gravy, roast beef, and extra sausage patties.

The high-protein diet was comparable to the Atkins diet, Lindseth said, in that it consisted of more than 50 percent protein. Instead of roast beef and gravy, pilots on the high-protein diet might eat a spinach salad with chicken breast.

The latter kind of dinner has long been intuitively considered by many as healthy, and Lindseth cautioned that the long-term results of fatty or high-carbohydrate diets need to be studied further.

“One of the things you want to do with a study like this is take the results cautiously,” Lindseth said.

She’s not recommending that people take up a high-fat diet for the long run to improve their mental capacity. But she suggests that eating a candy bar or two before a test or a military operation “may not be as bad” as what nutritionists previously thought.

“Maybe people just need to eat (fatty) foods more when they’re going to go into a situation when they’re going to need to think more clearly or alertly,” Lindseth said.

All of the participants in the study were fixed-wing pilots, and a few were military, Lindseth said, including a few pilots from the North Dakota National Guard.

Lindseth suggested that results of the study might be useful to the military far beyond just the field of aviation.

The last slide in her presentation on Tuesday read: “Since peak performance is critical to the warfighter, the effects of diet can have far-reaching consequences in the combat environment.”

BIKERNET HARLEY-DAVIDSON REMAN PROGRAM ARTICLE REVIEW– I just had to jot you this note of thanks to tell you how incredibly well done your article is on the Harley Davidson EVO remanufacturing process (http://www.bikernet.com/garage/PageViewer.asp?PageID=1445).

The photos and detail you provided in your article are absolutely phenomenal. As the new owner of an ’89 FLSTC, I’m very intrigued with the idea of having my EVO remanufactured to extend the life of an already fabulous bike. Your article went a long way to prove the obvious value of the $2300 investment – and I’m definitely going to start saving for it.

Thanks for your excellent and informative resources for bikers. Keep up the great work!

Carrot Cake Tip of the Day 9/6/2009– Carrot cake is a perennial favorite, but it is often loaded with vegetable oil and laden with a cream cheese frosting. Our version is healthier, using a small amount of olive oil, a full cup of honey for moistness and flavor, and a combination of whole wheat pastry and unbleached flours. The crunchy walnuts even add a bit of omega-3 fats to this sweet treat. With a cup of hot green tea, this cake will make you forget about cream cheese frosting. Enjoy!

Food as Medicine: Carrots are excellent sources of carotenoids, and good sources vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber and potassium.

Carrot Cake

Ingredients
2 cups firmly packed finely grated carrots
Juice of 1 large orange
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup light olive oil
1 cup honey, liquefied in microwave (30 seconds)
1/2 cup crushed or chopped pineapple, drained
1 cup unbleached white flour
1 1/2 cups whole-wheat pastry flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350?F.
2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the carrots, orange juice, vanilla, olive oil, honey, and pineapple until well blended.
3. In another bowl, stir together the flours, baking soda, and spices. Mix in the walnuts.
4. Blend the dry ingredients into the carrot mixture, stirring until just mixed.
5. Pour the batter into a nonstick 8-inch-square baking pan and bake for 45-60 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and remove from pan.

KEN PETING MEMORIAL POKER RUN– It was a great day for a ride! Low 70?s, 80 mile motorcycle ride and food provided by B. and W. BBQ and Catering.

On Sunday August 30th approximately 35 bikes and a great group of people gathered at the Simpsonville Fire Department, Station #1. Their purpose was a memorial run for Ken Peting, a veteran and owner of Peting heating and cooling for 30 years. Ken was also very active in the Simpsonville Fire Department and Crusade for Children often driving house to house to raise money.

Tragically, on June 16, 2008, while donating his time and parts to fix an AC unit for someone in need, Ken passed away of a heart attack. In his memory, we put on an annual poker run to raise money for the charity he cared so much about. This year we were able to raise $483.00 to donate to the Crusade, in his name.

Special thanks go to the members of Kentucky Motorcycle Association/K.B.A. District #18. They are as follows; Sergeant of Arms Billy Roby (route and blocker organizer), Vice Director Sean Arms, Lori Costello, Dale Hundley, Danny King, Mark Williams, Wade Zinsmiester, Charlie Kennady, Todd & Theresa Winters, Treasurer Karissa Arms with their Aussie Maverick.

With the KMA?s help next year we are expecting even more bikes, more fun and a larger donation. Our goals are 100 bikes and at least $1000 to donate Keep an eye out for fliers on your favorite web sites and bike shops by early spring.

THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED THIS YEAR. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

(SkyNewswire.com)—As Don Blancet, the Executive Director of ABATE of California, has correctly observed is a press release graciously disseminated by our friends at the Motorcycle Riders Foundation, the instant Quigley et al. v. California Highway Patrol case will pound the final nail in the coffin of the California helmet law. But in order to appreciate why this case is the undertaker that will place the helmet law 6 feet under, you will need to understand the constitutional defect that this helmet law was born with – the same defect present at the heart of the helmet law recommended to all states by the NTSB – and how our California freedom fighters have constructed the law’s coffin, a labor of 17 years, in the state and federal courts, to lay the constitutional predicate to finally put the helmet law in its grave.

The constitutional defect in both the California helmet law and that proposed by NTSB is that these laws require motorcyclists to wear helmets compliant with the federal motorcycle helmet performance standard set forth at FMVSS 218. The defect is that neither the ordinarily intelligent biker nor the law enforcement fficer could possibly have any clue what FMVSS 218 requires. The rider can’t read the law and know how to comply with it; and the law enforcement officer likewise cannot possibly apply it, except arbitrarily. Section 218 states nothing about helmet fabrication or what a helmet should look like. It merely describes some laboratory procedures and some arbitrary impact criteria. Indeed, to determine whether a particular helmet complies with FMVSS 218 requires the essential laboratory equipment and appropriately trained engineers to operate it, and in the process of testing the helmet.

WORKIN’ HARD ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND–It’s the code of the west on every Sunday for Bikernet Cantina Members. I now have my Thunderheart ignition module and a Wolfgang book on wiring. I’ve wired a lot of motorcycles, but I thought I’d review the book for new information. I’m particularly interested in wire gauges and the power drop and heat created by some wires.

Next week I’ll bring you the Chop N Grind, D&D, K&N, and Compu-Fire Tech. The Chop N Grind gang is headed this way tomorrow for a BBQ at the headquarter. I owe them some parts.

Also next week, we’ll deliver on the final episodes of Marilyn’s road trip through picturesque Wisconsin. Let me find my scattered notes. Oh yeah, we have more Bonneville reports coming, a Chuck Riddle Ride through the Shenandoah Valley. The Chris Kallas amazing 5-Ball art tech is headed our way, and Felicia’s Sons of Anarchy article with burn holes in your computer screen.
