PLANS TO COVER THE LOVE RIDE THIS YEAR– Are you going to cover this year’s LOVERIDE?…I usually go just to give the ‘Metric’ magazine slant on the ride…Before Glendale Harley stopped having the event at Lake Castaic I used to follow some of the Sportster/Buell/V-Rod crowd on my ol’ Yamaha Road Warrior up Bouquet Canyon Rd., to Lake Huges Rd, then down Castaic Rd. for pictures for a ROAD RUNNER Magazine article…Lorenzo Lamas once led the group (that guy can reeeeleeeee ride)…I found over the years more and more riders didn’t want to follow the thousands of riders up Hwy 5…but would rather take the twisties…The Bouquet Canyon/Lake Huges Road group always got there in time (It seemed we’d spend more time looking for a place to park at Lake Castaic than the actual ride from Glendale to Lake Castaic took) for the show, and dinner…

Contact Saddlemen – 310-638-1222 – sales@saddlemen.com ENGINE REVVING MAY BECOME A CRIME IN ALBUQUERQUE– Revving your engine in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, may soon be a crime punishable by a fine of up to $500, imprisonment and seizure of your bike or car. Mayor Martin Chavez (D) proposed adding a blip of the throttle to the city ordinance listing “nuisances” that the city uses as a justification to seize automobiles. The city council is expected to vote on the idea soon, and may expand ticketing to the entire city. “It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in exhibition driving in the Downtown Quiet Zone by operating a vehicle in a manner that willfully creates excessive engine noise because of revving the engine to magnify the engine noise,” the proposed ordinance states. At first, Chavez will ask police set up traps to ticket motorcyclists before going after other motorists.

ART meets Motorcycle 2009 September 13th 2009: First Art & Motorcycle at Gruyere/Switzerland– Art and Motorcycling go together quite well ? as the booming market in the USA signifies. But first attempts to bring both topics together date back to 1997/98 when Dutch Anton Beuman, then editor of Freeway Holland held a small exhibition at the Einhoven Harley-dealership, followed by bigger exhibitions with additional artists at the German ?Custom Performance? and ?MOTO RAI? at Amsterdam. Then things went pretty quiet, except for rumours that some Swiss enthusiast are planning a big event in the heart of the Jura, the French language part of Switzerland.
The rumour has become reality ? and on September 13th, the first Art & Motorcycle event will take place at Gruyere, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The center of Gruyere, spectacularly located atop a rock and with the original medieval houses, castle and fortifications (and normally off-limits to all traffic), will then open the gates for the Custombikes exhibited and motorcycle artists.
The bikeshow will take place inside the castle, the lineup of artists from the complete spectrum of art ? paintings, sculpture, photographic and more ? is announced and upgraded on the event-website www.Art-Motorcylce.com

A BIKERNET RELIGIOUS MOMENT, IT’S SUNDAY GODDAMNIT– Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day the dog died, and Muldoon went to the parish priest and asked, ‘Father, my dog is dead. Could ya’ be saying’ a Mass for the poor creature?’
Father Patrick replied, ‘I’m afraid not; we cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there are some Baptists down the lane, and there’s no tellin’ what they believe. Maybe they’ll do something for the creature.’
Muldoon said, ‘I’ll go right away Father. Do ya think $5,000 is enough to donate to them for the service?’
Father Patrick exclaimed, ‘Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn’t ya tell me the dog was Catholic?
SECOND URAL MEETING COMING UP– Only 8 weeks to go: Then the Second European Ural Meeting will be. More than 100 participants have already signed up from Russia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, England and also Ural fans from the USA and Canada will participate. We are expecting about 200 to 300 Russian sidecars at the Meeting. The location offers a unique atmosphere in and around a medieval castle. We will offer best food and drinks and on Saturday evening nice music. The highlight will be the Ural Roadbook Rally.
Attention: Apply soon, there are only a few vacant places left. As an alternative to the Rally we will organise a trip to a brewery on Saturday.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike. Then I realized that the Lord doesn’t work that way, so I stole a bike and asked him to forgive me.
BIKERNET FEATURE VOTE– I never thought I’d say this but I’ve actually found a V-Rod I like! That bagger is a really slick machine. Everything works- looks like a lot of thought went into it.

GIRLS OF BIKERNET RAID CARLISLE BIKEFEST– This weekend is the Carlisle Bikefest in Carlisle, PA. Several of the ladies from the Girls of Bikernet Calendar were there on Saturday to sign calendars. Miss September Shelly Mills and Miss February Donna Lalino participated in the bikini contest at 6pm Saturday evening.
Shelly place first and won the Miss Carlisle Bikefest title for this year. Donna placed second in the competition.
Last week was a lot of photos of Trista who is going to be at the Bikernet Booth in Sturgis….. This week is another gorgeous beauty from the Girls of Bikernet Calendar, Shelly.
Shelly is Miss September in the Calendar and also just won the Miss Carlisle Bikefest Title yesterday in the bikini contest at Carlisle Bikefest. Members of Bandit’s Cantina get to enjoy these photos of the calendar model and bikini contest winner without the bikini.
Shelly will be in Sturgis Aug 1 thru the 6th. Stop by the 5TH AND LAZELLE booth early in the week to meet Shelly before she leaves on Thursday.
