BIKERNET GETS RATED FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE– I checked out the site for the MYT engine. Very interesting concept. I hope they can get one into a chassis soon. Can’t get much of an idea seeing low res video of the thing on a bench.

I don’t know what to think of our state of things. The whole country seems to be sliding to the left. More government control, more intervention, and now they want our bullets. Dammit man!

I wanted to thank you for the very fast response in getting me your Orwell book. That is the kind of customer service that business in America needs. Great stuff. I have enclosed some pics I took of my shovel. Twit is the model (stepdaughter).

Thanks for the great work and I hope you guys have a great Christmas.

KALLAS BIKER ART BLOG FEATURES BANDIT– There’s always too many things to go to. I haven’t gone to Mooneyes (for 3-4 yeasr), since it moved to Irwindale. It’s been getting too big for years now. I miss the days when it was a small informal affair at their shop
The last 2 years I was selling at the Chopper Fest so I had to much to do to go to both.
I’d forgot about Cindy’s Century Motorcycle Christmas Party. Maybe I’ll go. It isn’t far and won’t kill the whole day like the CF.
Got carried away when I discovered these shots from your first feature in Easyriders in 1971.

NEW SALT ON SNOWY PITTSBURG ROADS-0- in ‘da ‘burg……We do it right, though it sucks to deal with all the traffic behind our salt trucks from people stopping and getting out to lick the roads…lol
‘Magic Salt’ Made Of Vodka-Rum Clears Snow From Roads
PITTSBURGH — A new product to the Pittsburgh area claims to produce a safe environment during the worst winter weather.
“Magic Salt” is a byproduct of vodka and rum, and the company recently opened a distribution center in Pittsburgh. The salt comes in a solid and a liquid form. If it is used before a snow storm, it will prevent snow and ice from sticking to the ground, officials with the company said.

AUSSIE BIKERNET CONTRIBUTOR HELPS OUT– An American adventure rider’s daughter was working in Madrid, Spain, when she contracted pnemonia…and shortly thereafter was on life support and is struggling for her life.
The rider and his wife flew over to Spain right away…and then he posted up a request on the ADVrider.com European section…asking if anyone could help him find cheap accomodation. And the response was immediate. (I did my bit, as it was night time in Oz and I had plenty of free time to surf the Net, looking for cheap accommodation options for the guy.)
But many other riders from the UK and Spain and France also jumped in to help. An email I sent to a local motorcycle hire business in Madrid yielded the best result so far.
J. Luis made many phone calls and found a couple of places that we hope the American rider and his wife can afford.
I thought that you’d like to make a story from the thread at ADVrider…proving once again that bikers help bikers…regardless of what sort of machinery they choose to ride, or what nationality they are.
Many riders, including myself, chipped in to help…but J. Luis took time out from his business to help.
Here is a link to the thread: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=414820
As I write this none of us have yet heard back from BMU, the american rider…which I find a worry as I feel he should have responded by now. I am dearly hoping that he is not going to tell us dire news about his daughter.
Hopefully he’s just too busy with more pressing concerns.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO BIKERNET– Thanks for your great website and all that you have done for this old dude and the biking community.
This is wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for keeping it real!

TIME TO RIDE–Tomorrow we’ll post the Roland Sands feature. Tuesday I meet with Tim Buche, the boss of the MIC, regarding our SEMA motorcycle council, but Tuesday afternoon I’ll attempt to post a Wolfgang tech on Softails. Then Wednesday I may ride over to Bennett’s Performance and talk to them about headwork and the tools needed for a JIMS tech.

We’re also working over a feature on a couple of races and Roger Goldammer’s Bonneville bike. So never a dull moment around here. Stick around.
Check Scotty’s new story on his escape to Mexico for the winter (on the home page). He has a “freedom scale.”
“Draw a line down the center of a piece of paper,” he told me. “The more material stuff you have on one side, the less freedom you have on the other.” Good thought, get rid of crap this Christmas.
Let’s Ride
