Hey,
Wild in the streets. I’m running late. Sin Wu made a wild French Toast concoction this morning with bananas, liquor and peanut butter. My head is spinning like a kid after too many PayDay candy bars.

We made a late-afternoon run to El Mirage yesterday, with the mad doctor of U.S. Choppers, Rick Krost, and Dr. Hamster, to feature Rick’s latest garage scrap, flat-track racer, and his restoration of a ’30s Indy car. We muscled our way onto the dry lakes through garrisons of forest fire units as the sky turned crimson and the sun became a bright 5-Ball behind the smoke.

Watch for the feature on Bikernet within the next couple of weeks. Let’s get with the news. We’re burnin’ daylight, goddamnit:

SAVE A MOTORCYCLIST STICKERS AVAILABLE FOR FREE– We also have the signature below attached to all of our emails and have give away, free of charge, three versions of stickers for letters with our message including on in yellow and black that says ?ABATE of Wisconsin.
Thanks for helping save lives, Bikernet. I will have Roberta send them out next week. We have the Milwaukee Rally this weekend. You may want to connect with actors and bikers Mickey Jones and Michael Gregory, copied on previous emails, both attended my pre-shoot dinner in LA on August 15th.
Michael ran the Stars and Stripes Foundation shoot out there on August 15th for the Wounded Warriors that my son and I and Mickey shot in. Mickey said the Indian is making a comeback and he will be the spokesman. Both are good guys-Mickey received the Silver Spoke award in Milwaukee a few years ago-still a good guy.

Michael is sending 1400 stickers for a ride in LV in October.
We have spent over $100,000.00 this year on our WATCH FOR MOTORCYCLES campaign and I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. Our stickers have been so well received that I am trying to raise money for Share the Road-also an awareness program-and get stickers on cars and trucks. It?s a win-win. I may do a similar program with the Boy Scouts to raise money for them and increase motorcycle awareness at the same time.
I shot in the Stars and Stripes event in LA two weeks ago to raise money for the Wounded Warriors and Michael Gregory, www.imdb.com

ART OF THE CHOPPER COMING TO CLINTON LIBRARY– LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ? The Oval Office replica at the Clinton Presidential Library is there to give visitors a look at what they’d see if they could get inside the working area of the White House. For the next several months, the view comes with some horsepower. The center’s new “Art of the Chopper” exhibit displays 30 gleaming, handcrafted motorcycles from around the country. That may be a curious choice for a presidential library, but it reflects American culture in the late 20th century, which Clinton center director Terri Garner says is part of the museum’s mission.
“Just as (Bill Clinton) defines the end of the 20th century, so does the chopper,” Garner said. Garner also said that as the library nears its fifth anniversary, the bike exhibit may spark interest among tour organizers and give past visitors a reason to come back. More than a million people have visited the library since it opened.
Portraits of the choppers’ creators by photographer Tom Zimberoff are displayed with the bikes. Zimberoff, who has produced two books, “Art of the Chopper” and “Art of the Chopper II,” assembled the show. Zimberoff calls the choppers “rolling sculpture.” Each bike is individually made, with makers taking a year or longer to fabricate parts and bring a design to completion. The choppers sell for up to $275,000, Zimberoff said.
“The chopper is an American art form as indigenous as jazz or rock’n’roll,” Zimberoff said. The designs of the bikes cover a wide range, from Pat Kennedy’s traditional chopper popularized by the movie “Easy Rider,” to the hammered-steel industrial look of Shinya Kimura’s “Spike,” to “Bettie,” by Rick Fairless, a bike that evokes the hippie era and is covered in psychedelic images and slogans. Mike Pugliese’s “Knuckle Under” features a set of brass knuckles as a choke handle.
Zimberoff’s portraits of the designers are all in black and white, standing in contrast to the bikes themselves.
“For me, it’s important and interesting to highlight the artists who make these motorcycles,” Zimberoff said.
“The choppers have been shown off but not the individuals who made them.” Garner, who has directed the library since November 2007, helped to clean the bikes before they were displayed. She said getting that close to the machinery gave her a surprising appreciation of the design and craftsmanship. She took a particular shine to Kimura’s “Spike.”

BIKERNET FEMALE TELEVISION REPORT EXPLAINS MAD COW DISEASE– A female TV reporter was interviewing with a farmer, seeking the main cause of Mad Cow Disease.
“Good evening, sir”, she began. “I am here to collect information on the possible source of Mad Cow Disease. Can you offer any reason for this disease?”
“Do you know that a bull mounts a cow only once a year?” the farmer asked.
Obviously embarrassed, the reporter said, “Well, sir, that’s a new piece of information, but what’s the relation between this phenomenon and Mad Cow Disease?”
“And,” continued the farmer, “do you know that we milk a cow twice a day?”
“Sir, this is really valuable information,” said the lady reporter, “but what about getting to the point?”
“I am getting to the point, ma’am,” the farmer insisted. “Just imagine, if I was playing with your tits twice a day and only screwing you once a year, wouldn’t you get mad?”

DURING A TOUR OF THE BIKERNET MEDICAL CENTER– A wealthy hospital benefactor was being shown around the hospital. During her tour she passed a room where a male patient was masturbating furiously. ‘Oh my GOD!’ gasped the woman. ‘That’s disgraceful! Why is he doing that?’
The doctor who was leading the tour calmly explained, ‘I’m very sorry that you were exposed to that, but this man has a serious condition where his testicles rapidly fill with semen, and if he doesn’t do that at least five times a day, he’ll be in extreme pain and his testicles could easily rupture.’ Oh, well in that case, I guess it’s okay,’ said the woman.
As they passed by the very next room, they saw a male patient lying in bed while a nurse performed oral sex on him. Again, the woman screamed, ‘Oh my GOD! How can THAT be justified?
Again the doctor spoke very calmly: ‘Same illness, better insurance.’

Customs Grabs $1.5 Million in Powersports Units– U.S. Customs officials in Dallas last week grabbed more than 1,400 motorcycles and scooters, claiming they violated EPA regulations. About 400 hundred of those units belong to CFMOTO Powersports Inc., the distributor based in suburban Minneapolis. They?re worth about $1.5 million at retail.
The move by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) people has cost CFMOTO more than $100,000 in storage fees alone, and the company also could be hit with penalties and legal fees, says Lev Mirman, president of CFMOTO?s operations in the U.S. ?This is absolutely crazy at a time when scooter sales are down 75 percent from last year and cash is very tight,? says Mirman.
When I spoke with Mirman this week, he was really hot, pointing out that his vehicles all have passed EPA certification tests at EPA approved labs. He says he holds four certificates that cost him more than $20,000 each. ?We follow every EPA rule,? he says.
Mirman claims the grab is a move by the feds to block the sale of Chinese-made products. ?They had a big push in the Dallas port to get as many Chinese bikes arrested as possible, so they made issues out of nothing just to get their numbers up,? he told me.
Apparently, the EPA claims the machines have an illegal idle air mixture screw in the carburetor. Mirman maintains that there are no testing requirements for this in the official EPA procedures, nor are there any issues from increased pollution from this. ?The EPA and CBP are grasping at straws to halt any shipment from China,? he says.
?It would make no sense for us not to comply with such silly things that EPA is nitpicking on,? argues Mirman. ?If only EPA let us know exactly what it is that they want. Instead of giving us guidelines, they are playing a ?gotcha? game, where all of a sudden they would start enforcing some obscure regulation that they never cared about in the past. Our bikes have been inspected by enforcement agents multiple times in the past and at no time did they tell us about any issues with the idle screws.?
