THE RAMBLING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS—for October 8th, 2026

Hey,

I don’t know about you, but I quit. I quit looking at my Feng Shui book for guidance. It’s like checking if your astrological stars are aligned. I did it mostly for inspiration, but a couple of times this year the fuckin’ book said my month was destined to be golden and it crashed. So, fuck it, I’m going with the biker code. We follow the right path or die trying.

A couple of bros said they liked the fact that I shared Easyriders growth, struggles and projects in my Bikernet Weekly News.

It’s a contest weekly, which brings up my list of challenges moving forward. Here’s the short version.

  • Social Media
  • Merch
  • Sub Sweepstakes effort
  • ER experience in Sturgis
  • Bikernet to Easyriders moving content
  • Rodeo Equipment
  • Finances
  • Legal: DM Licensing,
  • Next Licensing deal
  • Screenplay
  • Book
  • Bonneville

The biggest challenge is our social media effort. I won’t even discuss it here. I’m still in the learning stage. You’ll see a new Deal of the Week this week from D&S Cycles a Dealership in Oregon.

The Bikernet Weekly News was created by our non-stop, never give up staff: The Redhead, Wayfarer, LA Laura, Viscous Vickie, Danial James, Freak Show Team, Sturgis Prospect Kendra, Paul Davis, Agent Zebra and Berry Wardlaw.

Danial James whiskey he wanted to ship. No way.

MOVING BOOZE VIA MAIL– Never thought about this much until Danial James brought it up the other day.

How other states compare

Licensed-winery shipping is now allowed in almost every state, usually with a destination-state permit, tax collection, adult signature, and often a volume cap (New York’s commonly cited limit is 36 cases per consumer per year per winery; others run from a couple of cases a month to no cap). Colorado is relatively open on volume for permitted winery shipments and has no annual case cap of the sort some states use.

The restrictive outliers are about licensed shipping, not just gifts:

Utah still effectively bans direct-to-consumer wine. Alcohol moves through the state system; there is no ordinary permit path for a winery to ship to a resident’s door.

Delaware banned it for years. A 2025 law created a limited direct-shipment license that Wine Institute lists as taking effect August 15, 2026, with tight rules (including a 3-case-per-household annual cap and a restriction to wineries not already represented by a Delaware wholesaler).

Rhode Island is a near-ban for online orders: the consumer generally has to buy the wine in person at the winery before it can be shipped.

Mississippi has long been listed among the strictest states; rules there should be checked against current Alcoholic Beverage Control guidance before assuming a shipment is allowed.

Beer and spirits are much tighter almost everywhere. Only a minority of states let licensed breweries or distilleries ship to consumers, and many of those permits are in-state only. Colorado bars both.

Dry counties and cities add another layer: even a state that allows wine shipping may forbid delivery into a dry jurisdiction.

The legal workaround

You do not ship the bottle yourself. You order from a licensed winery (or, where the destination allows it, a licensed retailer) that already holds the destination state’s direct-shipper permit, and you name your friend as the recipient. Colorado’s statute expressly allows delivery to a recipient the purchaser designates in advance, still with ID and signature at the door. That is a permitted sale with a gift designation, not an unlicensed personal shipment.

Carrying a bottle in your own car for personal use is a different set of rules and is generally allowed in ordinary quantities. This is a description of the statutes and carrier rules, not legal advice; enforcement against a single gift bottle is often seizure rather than prosecution, but the exposure is real.

WE’RE COVING BAGGER DRAG RACING BECAUSE–Bagger Racing ROCKS!

At the recent AMRA DC Jones Memorial Fall Nationals, held in Bowling Green, Kentucky, a hot-bed of historic Harley drag racing, some of the baddest Bagger drag bikes were present kicking ass & taking names.  Like racer Nick Boey, of Crystal Lake, IL, who not only won in AMRA Street Bagger class, but earned the W in Pro Bagger as well, for a double hit on the points in both classes. This win makes it a triple-double for Mr. Boey and his team as they have doubled up three times out of four races in 2026, with one race remaining.

Bagger drag bikes can be found racing within the American Motorcycle Racing association in Pro Outlaw, Pro Bagger, Thunder Max Street Bagger, Axtell Cylinders Hot Street, Baker Drive Train Eliminator class, or any of the five index classes hosted by AMRA.

Easyriders and Bikernet are going to follow Bagger Drag Racing. It’s a place where the average joe can take a bike and raise hell.

NEXT RACE: The 35th Annual Jim McClure Finals, October 16-17-18, 2026, at Rockingham Dragway, in Rockingham, N.C. Bring Ear Plugs!

THE ELECTRIC NEWS–California Clarifies eBike and eMoto Rules

California has enacted SB 1167, drawing clearer legal lines between electric bicycles and electric motorcycles, mopeds, and motor-driven cycles after months of work by the Motorcycle Industry Council to improve the bill’s vehicle definitions, classifications, and related requirements.

The bill’s sponsor sought to clearly define what qualifies as an electric bicycle and which vehicles fall outside that definition, giving law enforcement clearer guidance as higher-powered off-road electric motorcycles, often referred to as eMotos, are increasingly used on public roads.

The law maintains California’s definition of an electric bicycle as a bicycle with operable pedals and an electric motor of no more than 750 watts. Motorcycles, motor-driven cycles, mopeds, and off-highway electric motorcycles cannot be advertised, sold, or labeled as electric bicycles. The law also establishes disclosure and labeling requirements intended to make the differences between those vehicle categories clearer to consumers and law enforcement.

BIKERNET WEEKLY GUN NUT REPORT–Big Wins with Friends of NRA

What a year it has been! Friends of NRA events have brought together thousands of supporters, volunteers, and shooting sports enthusiasts across the country and there’s still plenty more to come this fall.

From sold-out crowds and record-breaking events to unforgettable nights of fellowship and fundraising, these events showcase what happens when passionate communities come together with a shared commitment to the future of the shooting sports.

A special thank-you goes to our dedicated volunteers who have gone above and beyond to make each event possible. We’re also grateful to every attendee, donor, sponsor, and supporter whose generosity helps make a lasting impact on the shooting sports and the programs that support them. We are especially proud to recognize Ruger, our Defender Level Sponsor, for their generous support and continued commitment to Friends of NRA.

Adding to the excitement at Friends of NRA events this year is the 2026 Gun of the Year, the Daniel Defense H9 9mm with Vortex Red Dot Friends of NRA Edition, one of the standout firearms featured in this year’s exclusive merchandise lineup.

Check out a few of the memorable Friends of NRA events from this year so far. Five of these standout events reached an impressive fundraising milestone, each raising more than $25,000 at a single event to earn prestigious High Caliber Club status. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of these committees and the incredible support of their local communities. High Caliber Club committees are also eligible to receive a specialty firearm to feature at the following year’s event, making this accomplishment one worth celebrating!

AN EXTRA BIKERNET GUN NUT REPORT–The New Battleground for Second Amendment Rights: Global Online Content

Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots – computer programs on websites, messaging apps, and social media platforms designed to simulate human conversation through text or voice – are now ubiquitous. Asked how widespread AI usage is, a Google chatbot responds that “roughly 49% of U.S. adults use AI chatbots, up from 33% in 2024. About 25% of U.S. adults use them daily,” with young adults (aged 18-29) the most heavily reliant. The primary use (42%) is to search for information.

As first reported by gun news outlet The Truth About Guns, Everytown, the gun control empire founded and funded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg, is now demanding that AI companies censor AI-stored information and responses on queries related to firearms.

A “white paper,” published by Everytown on September 28, builds on the principle that whoever controls mass communication media controls access to information. The paper, Artificially Assisted Gun Violence: Chatbot Risks and Preventative Steps for Responsible AI Companies, directs AI companies to make the necessary “adjustments to their platforms and internal company policies” and ensure “safer product-level user experiences.”

Everytown’s central premise is the claim that “mounting evidence shows that chatbots can actually facilitate gun violence by providing users with tactical firearm advice or attack planning assistance,” and the “millions of chatbot users in the U.S. who may find themselves lonelier, angrier, and more antisocial after prolonged conversations” with sycophantic chatbots have access to guns. The paper refers to claims that “chatbot use is on the rise in ‘high-risk threat cases,'” and alleges that not only are chatbots providing general guidance on gun features and mechanics, but that AI “models may be training on toxic firearms-related material that goes far beyond the line of safe and practical advice and into dangerous tactical training and guidance on circumventing gun laws.”

The “core pillars” of the Everytown paper are that chatbot platforms “should refuse to provide specified types of unsafe information related to firearms” and “should deploy a ‘crisis response protocol’ when systems detect self-harm or violent intent with recent discussion of firearms.” AI companies must “strengthen protocols for referring high-risk communications to law enforcement,” equip their chatbots “to highlight gun safety practices and gun violence prevention tools,” and “work directly with law enforcement, threat assessment experts, and gun violence prevention experts to adopt” Everytown’s recommendations. These “gun violence prevention experts” are the pro-gun control advocacy community, like the “expert[s] from the Everytown Labs or Everytown Policy team” available to discuss the white paper’s recommendations.

No one disputes that effective efforts to reduce the risk of suicides and crime should be supported. One of the many problems with Everytown’s proposals, though, is the blatant overreach: the grab to harness the power of AI to squelch legitimate speech and instead, deploy it to spread anti-gun propaganda, which otherwise can’t get the kind of traction Everytown would like.

According to Everytown, the kinds of “risky or unsafe information” that chatbots should be prohibited from providing include “how to acquire a firearm without a background check” or “how to make an unserialized firearm, frame, or receiver,” all of which are presumptively lawful under federal law and many state laws, and not an automatic flag of dangerous or criminal intent. Another topic they would like to see prohibited is the deceptively framed “how to sell or traffic firearms,” which makes no distinction between lawful dispositions and illegal gun running.

Everytown’s apparent argument is that such information is unsuitable and unacceptable for all users because of the off-chance that underage, gun-prohibited or deranged persons might access it. Moreover, such inquiries should be dealt with exclusively by law enforcement: “This legal landscape is complex and ripe for chatbot confusion. Accordingly, chatbot responses to questions on these issues should direct users to state or local law enforcement sources.”

A related Everytown recommendation is that “all chatbot companies should publicly commit to contacting law enforcement when their human review processes determine a user is at high risk of using a firearm to harm themselves or others.” Even mental health professionals aren’t able to accurately assess a risk of violence (an Australian jurisdiction that made mental health assessment a condition of gun licensing found that physicians were unwilling to participate for that reason). It’s not hard to imagine, though, how this recommendation dovetails with and advances Everytown’s promotion of “red flag” laws, which allow for the preemptive confiscation of firearms and suspension of gun rights based on a suspicion of a risk of future harm.

Another way AI companies can further Everytown’s gun control agenda is to “equip chatbots to highlight gun safety practices and gun violence prevention tools to users,” with a “non-exhaustive list of pro-safety chatbot responses” including “[p]roviding accurate information on extreme risk protection orders,” informing “new firearm owners” to store a firearm unloaded and in a locked storage device, providing Everytown-supplied “accurate information about home defense alternatives to firearms,” and “[e]nsuring that chatbots share vetted and accurate gun violence statistics and studies on gun violence prevention topics.” These credible and accurate sources are, no doubt, the same “gun violence prevention experts” who would be called upon to implement Everytown’s recommendations.

One sample of such “vetted and accurate” statistics appears in the paper. Firearms, it claims, “are the leading cause of death for American children and teens, surpassing motor vehicle accidents and cancer,” a statistic that the NRA and others have previously debunked in detail (here, here, and here).

The paper’s fearmongering and less than credible statistics manage to omit any reference to the fact that firearms are constitutionally protected and that information about firearms constitutes expression protected by the First Amendment.

As technology makes vast tracts of information instantly available to any user, one result is a new type of informational warfare against constitutionally protected rights. This has manifested itself as efforts to criminalize making available computer codes for 3D printing firearms and accessories, litigation to make firearm manufacturers liable for a third party’s crime based on their advertisements of lawful products or pro-Second Amendment social media posts, and unconstitutional legislation to ban advertisements of lawful firearms products “in a manner that … reasonably appears to be attractive to minors.”

One very recent incident is that of a prominent Youtuber, attorney, and owner of thefirearmsblog.com, who was subpoenaed in connection with an Everytown Law-supported lawsuit simply because he is an online gun reviewer. As he explains, the suit alleges that “advertisement” includes “unpaid organic social-media content.” An NRA alert notes that “Everytown’s new campaign to undermine First and Second Amendment rights came into clearer focus two days after [his] post, when Everytown media front The Smoking Gun published a piece attacking Youtube content-creating firearms enthusiasts and gun rights supporters, titled ‘Loaded Content.’…” Loaded Content not only alleges that “guntube” is “an industry-funded marketing ecosystem,” but makes the accusation that this “funding sponsors content that glorifies violence, spreads political extremism and white supremacy, and normalizes dangerous weapons.”

True to form, Everytown concludes its white paper with a warning that AI companies better play ball or else. “[L]egislation and litigation [are] appearing in all corners of the country,” with “a high likelihood that AI companies will eventually be required to adopt policy changes like those recommended” in its paper.

Time and again we’ve seen Everytown and similar civilian disarmament advocates “work well outside the normal political process to assault Second Amendment rights, and they are more than willing to suppress First Amendment rights to achieve their goal.”

The battleground may have changed, but the goal remains the same.

LEGISLATIVE NEWS–Arizona Riders Should Vote Yes on Proposition 141

Arizona motorcyclists have a reason to vote YES on Proposition 141: choosing to ride should not expose you to a state or local tax calculated by the miles you travel.

Proposition 141 would amend the Arizona Constitution to prohibit state and local governments from imposing taxes or fees based on motor vehicle miles traveled. It would also prohibit laws or rules that monitor or limit those miles unless the person voluntarily consents.

For riders, the case comes down to cost, privacy, and the freedom to travel.

Regards,
Rogue

LET’S CHECK THE LIST–Remember the ’48 Flathead in the Emporium? It’s an absolute classic. We are looking at creating our first Subscription Sweepstakes for Easyriders Magazine starting with the next issue. We are thinking about building this bike, but perhaps a Panhead. Make is super rideable and reliable, but a classic like this bike. What do you think?

Always need a shop project and this is it. I’m building a 1913 H-D boardtrack racer. It’s been on a lift for a couple of years, but it’s time. Cabana Dan came over to help me check how many parts I need to build a complete engine. I didn’t do too bad, but will order rods, mainshaft, engine sprocket and a few others from Competition Distributing next week. Just a couple more and I can ship the whole tamale to Micah McCloskey. He said he would rebuild it as soon as he’s not hanging out with a billionaire.

Speaking of Micah, here’s a shot of him rolling the dice with Slave Louie, when he was a member of the Hells Angels. That might have been Jesse in the center, but I’m not sure.

I crushed my phone and lost all my contacts, so when I received a couple of shots of this super-clean flathead, I didn’t know who sent them. As it turned out it was Kent Weeks from Lucky Devil Metal Works in Houston, Texas. He’s a very talented builder, fabricator. As it turns out the owner showed up at the TROG and Jack McIntyre was shooting the event. I tried to hook them up for a feature shoot. We’ll see.

Speaking of Jack, he sent me this shot of a back piece inspired by David Mann.

It’s October and we still get stellar Avocados in the Black Hills. There’s nothing like Avocado toast and Whiskey to start the evening.

This buckle was manufactured in 1978. It’s about 3-inches in diameter and the skull is separate from the base. I’m hoping to improve on it. I would love to have the base cast from brass with a stainless skull riveted to the center. I would like the letters to be sorted rounded and not flat. We’ll see.

A very young man built this very clean and classic chop. We are going to feature it as a Reader’s Ride in an upcoming issue. He’s anxious to build another bike and receive a full feature. Hang on.

There’s so much coming. It’s almost impossible to keep up. Here are two recent adages. Vinnie said, “Don’t let the bastards take up space in your mind.” My bookkeeper said today, “Just think Peace, Love and Harmony and don’t let negativity inside.”

And ride free, goddamnit!
