THE ENCOURAGING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for September 11th, 2025

Hey,

Damn, there’s so much good stuff to talk about in a world gone insane. We are in the final throws of the Easyriders deal and we are still grappling with improvements to Bikernet.

Tucker Carlson will release a five-part series on the 911 attacks today and spill the beans. We know now how corrupt our government became. Hell, one group is still trying to destroy everything we stand for, tough times.

It’s also a great time to get involved, to step up for honesty, Integrity and freedom. If we don’t, institutions will die.

Here’s a direct example. Wayfarer, who works for Bikernet lives near Mumbai in India. All government institutions are corrupt in India. I can’t send him a gift package without government officials tearing it open and taking whatever they want. He can’t complain. It would mean trouble for him or his family.

Think about it. Let’s hit the news.

The News was provided by the Bikernet Team including: Wayfarer, the Redhead, Bob T. Sam Burns, Rogue, Laura, Barry Green, El Waggs, J.J. Solari, Amy White, Jenn and the rest of the crew.

The Bikernet Weekly News is sponsored in part by companies who also dig Freedom including: Cycle Source Magazine, the MRF, Iron Trader News, ChopperTown, BorntoRide.com and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.

BIKERNET QUOTE OF THE DAY–

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to ride in the rain.”

THE JOE MARSHALL TAILLIGHT DISCOVERED– I was wondering if you’d mind doing a review on my DECO 2.0 taillight. It’s all American made, and CNCd here by an American owned and run machine shop. Solid unit, and after your review on your blog and also ER (possibly?) if you’d be inclined, you can have the light for a future project or chopper.

I’m also an honorably retired US Army veteran of 23 years active duty ( “Mustang….Enlisted, Warrant, & Commissioned) Not sure if you knew that or not. No pressure or expectation either way, just an offer if you’d be interested.

Have a good evening,
Joe

RAT PUNK KAWASAKI–

Greetings Bandit, from Golden Colorado:  I’m a longtime fan of Pete Boyles and heard you on his radio show a couple of weeks ago.  I was pleased to hear Easyriders is making a comeback.  I won’t go into a lot of details now but will just present some pictures of my most recent project to see if you’d have any interest in putting this bike in your magazine.

I’ve been married for over 44 years so I can handle rejection, don’t be afraid to say no.

This is the bike I started with just two days before Christmas.  It’s a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600 with only 8,400 miles.  It was like new so I had to drink half a bottle of Jack Daniels to build up the resolve to start vandalizing it, but once I got started there was no turning back.  It’s been on the road since mid-July and I’ve put well over 5,000 trouble free miles on it.

I like Rats and I like Steampunk so here it is.

Best Regards,
Randy

Hey Randy,
You can’t be that far from Michael Lichter in Boulder. I’ll ask him to stop by.

THE WARRANTY CASE—

This case is In Re: Harley-Davidson Aftermarket Parts Marketing, sale Practices and Antitrust Litigation, 24-2111 (7th Cir.)

This case found that the true meaning  confirms warranties can serve as legitimate tools of brand protection, but they can’t be transformed into levers of aftermarket control.

Phrase such as, “use only genuine parts” or “warranty voind if serviced elsewhere” invite scrutiny. The recommended wording should be, “Warranty does not cover damage caused by non-genuine parts or unauthorize servicing.”

Bottom line, even this wording may not hold up in courts. Aggressive warranty phrases may increase antitrust theories and enhance regulators or private plaintiffs who are eager to test warranty wording.

California PFAS Bill Exempts Youth OHVs

After sustained advocacy by the Motorcycle Industry Council, Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association, and Specialty Vehicle Institute of America, California Senate Bill 682 will exempt youth off-highway vehicles and their replacement parts, as well as motorcycles eligible for special transportation identification, from the state’s PFAS ban until January 1, 2032.

“Securing this extension took months of coordinated effort,” said Rachel McCarthy, Manager of State Affairs in the Government Relations Office. “The advocacy from our members and the powersports community played a critical role in ensuring youth OHVs remain available in California through at least 2032, and we appreciate the hundreds of individuals who weighed in with their elected officials.”

COMPETITION DISTRIBUTING–Kickstarts & Chronicles

Brough Superior SS100

The Brough Superior SS 100 is a motorcycle which was designed and built by George Brough in Nottingham, England in 1924. Although every bike was designed to meet specific customer requirements—even the handlebars were individually shaped—sixty-nine SS100s were produced in 1925 and at £170 (equivalent to £12,200 in 2023) were advertised by Brough as the “Rolls-Royce of Motorcycles”.[better source needed]The term was coined by a magazine road tester in his review of the bike, and Brough eventually obtained explicit permission to use it after a Rolls-Royce executive toured the Brough Superior factory. All bikes had a guarantee that they were capable of 100 mph (160 km/h).

Development

Brough Superior SS 100 Alpine Grand SportsAfter the initial introduction of the SS100, the Alpine Grand Sports, an SS100 with a full touring specification. was launched at the 1925 Motorcycle Show. In the same year Brough Superior produced a 110 mph (180 km/h)[citation needed] Pendine Racing Model (named after the Pendine Sands where Malcolm Campbell set a number of world speed records) with increased ground clearance.

Every owner was encouraged by Brough to suggest their own ideas for developing the SS100, which meant that almost all his motorcycles were uniquely hand-built, and the design was continually evolving.

World Records

The SS100 engineering was developed through competition and wins in over 50 events in the early 1920s, and Bert le Vack, who worked with Brough on development, was the holder of seven world records. In 1927, George Brough and Freddie Dixon both achieved a record 130 mph (210 km/h) for the kilometre on the SS100, and in 1928 Brough broke his own record with 130.6 mph (210.2 km/h). In 1932, Ronald Storey achieved 81.08 mph for the standing half-mile at Brighton, and in 1939 Noel Pope secured an all-time Brooklands track record lap time of 124.51 mph (200.38 km/h) on an SS100.

911 REMEMBRANCE–

On this day, 24 years ago, time stood still as the world watched the September 11 attacks unfold. Thousands of American lives were tragically cut short and our nation changed forever. For many, that fateful day served as a call to defend our country.

The September 11 anniversary serves as a humbling reminder that the freedoms we hold dear are only possible because of the brave individuals — like you — who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Today, we remember the lives lost, and we honor all those who sacrificed. Thank you for your service to our country — and for being a member of DAV.

THE EASYRIDERS MANTRA-

I worked for this company off and on for over 23 years. Easyriders always meant something to me, but unfortunately it hasn’t contained the same mantra for many of the owners. That’s been a problem. Easyriders Magazine is something special. It’s not just mag fulla of bike features, event coverage, crummy cartoons and half-naked broads.

Easyriders magazine represented freedom and the Biker Code of the West. Sure, we party our asses off, but when the party’s over we clean the grounds, help our brothers and sisters pack up, fixed busted bikes, help folks in a spot and ride like the wind home.

We’re an industry made up of folks who build cool shit, when we know the market is small. It’s not about the money. It’s about the freedom to create and the freedom to ride to the next adventure.

It’s about being a proud biker surrounded by straights who want to regulate or jail us.

Here’s what I wrote for the Easyriders Mantra: We look out for you. Fight for your freedoms, fight for our rights, fight for safe riding roads. We’re there for your history, for the ability and knowledge to build whatever you want to ride from a stripped-down chopper to a high-tech touring machine.

And here’s the icing on the cake: The headquarters will be located on Main Street in Sturgis, SD.

Ride Fast and Free Forever,
–Bandit
