Forever, I’ve searched the soul of the Biker spirit.

Hey,
This year an epiphany struck like a bolt of lightning to my sissybar while doing 80 mph on a Wyoming Highway. Sturgis represents the Biker Nation, the home of everyone and everything two-wheeled.
It’s the only place on earth where all bikers come together and find brotherhood, connection, resources, leaders, builders and innovation. I’m hoping as the years pass, more and more of the industry, riders and AMCA members will move this way, so Sturgis represents the spoked- hub all year long.
Let’s hit the news!

BRIAR BAUMAN TAKES HARLEY-DAVIDSON XG750R TO RACE WIN AND TWO PODIUMS, BUILDS AFT MISSION SUPERTWINS POINTS LEAD AT STURGIS TRIPLE-HEADER
Jesse Janisch Races Harley-Davidson Pan America® 1250 Special to AdventureTrackers Victory
Rick Ware Racing/Parts Plus/Latus Motors rider Briar Bauman rode a Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle to one win and two additional podium finishes during three nights of racing at the historic Jackpine Gypsies short track near Sturgis, S.D., earning vital points in the closely contested Mission SuperTwins championship battle in the 2025 Progressive American Flat Track (AFT) series. Bauman extended his SuperTwins series lead to seven points. Mission/Roof Systems rider Brandon Robinson also claimed a SuperTwins race win aboard a Harley-Davidson XG750R—his first victory on the bike after playing a key role in its long-term development.
In the first AFT AdventureTrackers race of the season, WFOracingonline.com rider Jesse Janisch rode a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special to a win and a runner-up finish as the series made its Sturgis debut. H-D Pan America riders Danny Eslick (Saddlemen Race Development) and Henry Wiles (Walters Bros. Harley-Davidson/Wiebler’s Harley-Davidson) also earned podium results.
The tripleheader week of short track and TT racing was staged in conjunction with the 85th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Bauman Adds to AFT SuperTwins Points Lead, Robinson Earns First Victory

August 4 – The Sturgis AFT SuperTwins triple-header opened on August 4 with Jackpine Gypsies Short Track I. For the second time this season, the event featured the Mission Triple-Challenge format, with the SuperTwins field contesting three races: a 10-lap sprint opener, a 15-lap race, and a 20-lap final. Points escalated with each race, and championship points were awarded based on the combined totals.
Bauman set the tone early, topping qualifying with a best lap of 13.435 seconds on the tight 1/5-mile Jackpine Gypsies oval—the shortest track on the 2025 AFT SuperTwins schedule. In the 10-lap sprint, he led from the start with Mission/Roof Systems/Harley-Davidson rider Brandon Robinson and Yamaha’s Dallas Daniels, his closest title rival, in pursuit. Daniels moved past Robinson after two laps, but Bauman had already opened a gap, stretching his lead to 1.329 seconds at the finish. Daniels took second, with Robinson in third.
The 15-lap second race was twice red-flagged for on-track incidents. On the third restart, Bauman again took the lead, but Daniels executed a pass for the win mid-race. Bauman held on for second, 0.650 seconds behind Daniels, with Royal Enfield’s Max Whale in third.
The 20-lap finale turned into a showdown between Bauman and Daniels, the two swapping the lead several times in the opening laps. Daniels then took control at the front, with Bauman close behind and Robinson, Whale, and Honda’s Trent Lowe in the mix. On lap 19, Bauman retook the lead and held off Daniels and Robinson to claim his second win of the night and the overall event victory with a 1-2-1 score—his sixth AFT SuperTwins win of the season. Daniels (2-1-2) placed second overall, with Robinson (3-4-3) third.
“Dallas took me to school in the second Main Event,” said Bauman. “To come back and get him—he usually just builds momentum and gets better throughout the night—was huge. My Rick Ware Racing/Parts Plus/Latus Motors team worked really, really hard. We changed quite a bit of stuff even though we’d been fast all day. Dallas is so good. I’ve never been this stressed out all the time, but we’re out here, baby, and we’re working for it.”

August 5 – AFT SuperTwins raced under its traditional format for Jackpine Gypsies Short Track II. Robinson paced the field in qualifying with a best lap of 13.081 seconds on the Mission/Roof Systems Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle. Robinson finished second to Daniels in the first heat race, and Bauman won his heat race. At the start of the main event Daniels led the field with Robinson, Bauman and KTM rider Davis Fisher battling on his rear wheel. Robinson passed Daniels to take the lead at the 7-minute mark and the trio of Robinson, Daniels and Bauman opened a gap on the field. At the 4-minute mark Bauman took a low line attempting to pass Daniels for second place and contact sent Daniels to the track. The race was stopped for a red flag, and Bauman and Daniels were penalized and sent to the back of the field for the restart. Robinson led away from the restart as Daniels and Bauman charged from the back row through a pack of 14 bikes. Bauman passed Daniels and worked his way up to third place in the closing laps, while Daniels finished 5th. Robinson crossed the finish line 1.151 seconds ahead of Fisher, with Bauman 1.634 seconds back in third place. Robinson’s win was the first for any rider this season other than title contenders Bauman and Daniels.
August 8 – The Jackpine Gypsies facility was converted to a 0.35-mile TT course on a combination dirt and paved surface for the final event of the week, the Jackpine Gypsies Super TT. Bauman finished second to top qualifier Daniels in their heat race, and the pair of rivals lined up on the front row for the main event. Daniels led off the start as Wiles slotted into second with Bauman third. On the second lap Wiles missed a gear shift and Bauman charged past, giving chase to Daniels. Bauman could not quite match the pace set by Daniels on the very technical TT course and trailed by 5.781 seconds at the finish. Wiles finished third. Robinson left the race after 8 laps with a mechanical issue.
After 12 of 16 rounds in the 2025 AFT Mission SuperTwins championship, Bauman leads with 243 points, followed by Daniels with 236. Robinson is third with 164 points.
The AFT Mission SuperTwins series returns to action August 16 for the Peoria TT at the Peoria Motorcycle Club in Bartonville, Ill.

- Janisch Wins AFT AdventureTrackers Opener

August 4 – WFOracingonlin.com rider Jesse Janisch rode a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special to victory in the first round of the four-race 2025 AFT AdventureTrackers™ series, a professional racing class for large displacement, street-stock adventure touring motorcycles. In the single 10-lap main event, Janisch passed Suzuki rider Dan Bromley on the second lap and then held the lead as the pair battled for the rest of the race. Janisch, who had ridden a Pan America 1250 Special for back-country exploring in the Black Hills earlier in the day, won by 0.282 seconds. Triumph rider Dalton Gauthier finished third.
“We’ve been having a blast,” said Janisch following the race. “I got to ride a Pan America 1250 all day yesterday out in the hills, enjoying the scenic views of Sturgis, which was amazing. I’ve got to thank everyone who helped us out. I had a good battle with Dan, and I’m stoked to get the first one.”
August 5 – In the second AFT AdventureTrackers event Bromley and Janisch swapped results in the in the main event. Bromley pulled away from the field as Janisch battled for second place with Honda rider Austin Luczak and Walters Bros. Harley-Davidson/Wiebler’s Harley-Davidson rider Henry Wiles and Saddlemen Race Development rider Danny Eslick, both on Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special motorcycles. By the time Janisch broke out of that pack Bromley had opened a lead that stretched to 1.465 seconds at the finish. Luczak finished third, 3.633 seconds behind Bromley.
August 8 – Janisch and Bromley lined up on the front row for the AdventureTrackers™ Super TT main event (4 minutes plus 2 laps) in what was expected to be another battle for the two top riders in the class. Bromley led at the start with Janisch right on his wheel and looking for an opportunity to pass in the opening laps, but the fight was over after three laps when Janisch retired with a mechanical issue. Luczak and Harley-Davidson riders Eslick and Wiles took up the chase, but Bromley opened a gap on the field and crossed the finish line 3.596 second clear of Eslick with Wiles third.
After three of four rounds in the 2025 AFT AdventureTrackers championship, Bromley leads with 65 points. Janisch is second with 51 points, followed by Eslick with 45 points, Luczak with 43 points, Wiles with 42 points and Gauthier with 41 points.
The final race in the 2025 AFT AdventureTrackers series is scheduled for August 16 during the Peoria TT at the Peoria Motorcycle Club in Bartonville, Ill.

THE LEE WIMMER REPORT–
I’m glad to see Waggs got it with a nice $2,000 donation to the HOF and museum. Next year’s will be a Panhead bobber, already in progress. I’m also building a Strider which I’m very happy about. I honestly think this thing will be killer! Many fresh ideas.

I’m also making some Flying Piston art pieces. This one will be for Daytona (see above). The one for Sturgis next year should be really be Kool.
Sorry the new intakes are taking so long. Boys are swamped in the shop right now. We also engineered one for the M8 second generation.
I’ll keep you posted.

VEHICLE DEATH RATES UP—
The motor vehicle death rates are up and they are blaming 13 percent on motorcyclists.
I would like to challenge each state to see if they can study helmet use, which we know is up. But what if the death rate increase has something to do with full-face helmets OR helmet use.
Full face helmets are a severe spinal cord injury threats. They obstruct peripheral vision. They obstruct head movement. They give riders a serious false sense of security. They allow riders to talk on the phone and ride. The enhanced communications afforded blue-tooth and high-tech helmets could be a serious distraction. Could there be more issues? How can we find out if full-face Helmets are raising the death rate numbers?
We need to know, because enhanced education regarding safety equipment could save lives, plus the data would go along way to support the freedom of choice fight.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON– grabs a new partner
Harley-Davidson has finalized a new long-term partnership with two investment firms to help operate its financing business, Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS). Equity shares in Harley-Davidson rose sharply from $22.85 to a peak of $27.97 despite falling short of earnings expectations for its Q2 2025 results after the announcement of the agreement.
New York-based investment company Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Pacific Invest Management Company (PIMCO), a California-based fixed income management company, will each own 4.9% of HDFS in a combined purchase of more than $5 billion of existing loans, plus two-thirds of future loans. The deal will provide Harley-Davidson with approximately $1.25 billion, while still allowing it to hold majority ownership of HDFS.
For the iconic brand’s customers, things continue, relatively unchanged. HDFS will offer customers with financing including negotiation of terms. KKR and PIMCO will then purchase two-thirds of any new loans, paying HDFS 1% for prime and 2.5% for subprime loans. Loan payments for these purchased loans will go to KKR or PIMCO. The one third of loans retained by HDFS will operate as they have in the past.

Harley-Davidson 440 platform to gain a new model; launch in the September quarter.
Owing to weak sales, Hero recently discontinued the simultaneously developed Mavrick 440 roadster just 18 months after its launch.
Both motorcycles share the same single cylinder engine and the same trellis frame among some other features.
Hero MotoCorp has trademarked the name “Nightster 440” in India, suggesting the branding for a new motorcycle model in collaboration with Harley-Davidson, according to Indian auto news sites. This new bike is expected to be based on the same 440cc platform as the previous Harley-Davidson X440, but with a more sporty, bobber-style design inspired by the larger Harley-Davidson Nightster.
Riders are expecting some updated features too, as many were disappointed with the tiny dashboard (still very good at its price range) on X440—-compared to competing detailed TFT displays by Triumph, Aprilia, Enfield and Yezdi.

RIDE WITH US
SIMPSONxBUELL MOD BANDIT HELMET NOW AVAILABLE!
American Roots. Carbon Fiber Future: Buell x Simpson Join Forces
When the chance to collaborate with Simpson Race Products came up, it wasn’t even a question — it was a hell yes. Two forces in American motorsports, both built on performance, grit, and doing things our own damn way.
When the chance to collaborate with Simpson Race Products came up, it wasn’t even a question — it was a hell yes. Two forces in American motorsports, both built on performance, grit, and a path that is forged on our own.
At Buell, our story started in the mind of a racer. Born from relentless determination and American grit, we built a reputation on performance machines that pushed boundaries and rewarded those who pushed harder. We revolutionized motorcycle design with fuel-in-frame engineering, and created heart-pounding sport bikes that challenged convention, and have spent decades crafting machines for those who live life wide open.
Simpson Race Products shares that DNA. Born from the heat of motorsports, Simpson has always challenged what safety gear could be — blending life-saving protection with race-proven innovation. From drag strips to dirt tracks, they introduced the first drag racing parachutes, created the iconic Bandit helmet, and have spent over six decades making products for those who live life on the edge.
So when the opportunity came to collaborate, it wasn’t about marketing synergy. It was about shared values — speed, precision, rebellion, and a deep respect for the ride.
The result: a special-edition Simpson Mod Bandit, forged in carbon, draped in Buell’s attitude, and built for the kind of rider who leans further in when the road gets wild.
Two brands. One mission.
Bring the edge back to the street — and look good doing it. Limited to 830 units to honor the start of our journey at Buell Motorcycle Co. in 1983.
NOTE: This is not related to Keith ‘Bandit’ Ball. It refers to top selling Simpson ‘Mod Bandit’ model

AMA NEWS–National and Regional News
State News
California:
San Francisco — Drivers in the City by the Bay are now subject to automatic speed cameras. Although the 33 automated speed cameras around San Francisco went live in March, until recently drivers were only issued warnings as part of a several monthslong grace period. The speed enforcement cameras, scattered around the city, focus on streets that are the most prone to traffic injuries, have a history of sideshows or are in school zones, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. A map and list of the 33 camera locations is on SFMTA’s site.
For drivers going 11-15 mph over the limit, the fine is $50. Those going 16-25 mph over the limit will receive a $100 ticket, and drivers going 26 mph or more over the limit will receive a $200 ticket. Any vehicle going 100 mph or more in any location will be fined $500. To pay the fine, drivers can visit the SFMTA speed safety camera payment portal.
California Assembly Bill 645, that was adopted in 2023, authorized the cameras, but they aren’t allowed to use facial recognition. SFMTA has stated that only the rear license plate of the speeding vehicle is captured, and the data is stored with the agency for up to 120 days. The information will not be shared with other agencies unless ordered to by a court.
While San Francisco is the first city in California to officially launch this program, AB 645 also authorized the practice in Los Angeles, San Jose, Oakland, Glendale and Long Beach. The pilot program will operate until January 2032.

MRF & NCOM JOINT STATEMENT–
Florida Jury: Tesla Partially Liable
A Florida jury’s decision this month to hold Tesla partially liable for a fatal crash involving its Autopilot system has sent shockwaves through the auto industry. It also has motorcyclists’ rights groups reminding people of our concerns.
A jury found that Tesla bore partial responsibility for a 2019 crash in Key Largo, FL, that claimed the life of a woman and seriously injured her boyfriend. The driver had engaged Tesla’s Autopilot system and trusted that the car would see what the driver could not. It didn’t. The vehicle plowed into a parked car at over 60 miles per hour.
“I trusted the technology too much,” the driver told the court. “I believed that if the car saw something in front of it, it would provide a warning and apply the brakes.”
A jury agreed that it wasn’t just the driver at fault but also the automaker, for not designing limits on how the technology could be used and failing to adequately educate their customers.
This is an example of the public’s flawed understanding of what self-driving systems can do. As motorcyclists, we understand how important it is to ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings.
However, it is unfortunate that marketing around these vehicles and their systems often promises ease, comfort, and advanced safety. The reality has shown repeatedly that those promises can quickly become deadly illusions.
The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) and National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM) have long pressed for stronger oversight, increased transparency and public awareness of what this technology can do and more importantly, what it cannot do.
Motorcyclists must be included in the development and testing of automated systems; we are road users too. All too often, we are treated as an afterthought.
Now more than ever, it is time to support groups like the MRF and NCOM, who are on the front lines of this battle.

RUMBLEON REBRANDS–as RideNow Group, Announces HQ Move and
New Structure for Dealership Operations
RumbleOn announced this week that it is rebranding as RideNow Group, Inc., with a new ticker symbol RDNW. The move is part of a package of changes announced in conjunction with its earnings report for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025, which includes the relocation of the company’s headquarters, the rollout of a new business framework and expanded support for the company’s 54 powersports dealerships. The name and ticker symbol will officially change on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
“This change is about more than a new name and ticker symbol—it’s about aligning our corporate identity and our operations with the brand our customers already know,” said Michael Quartieri, CEO of RideNow Group. “By returning to our roots and strengthening our operations, we are positioning RideNow Group for long-term growth and ensuring our customers enjoy a consistent, exceptional experience.”
Also announced this week, the headquarters for RideNow Group will move from Irving, Texas to Chandler, Arizona, to offices in the company’s flagship store. The move consolidates leadership and support functions in one location, reinforcing the company’s “one team” approach to corporate and store operations.
Central to the company’s plan is the rollout of the RideNow Way, a business framework built on three core pillars: Entrepreneurial Spirit, Customer Experience, and Operational Excellence. The RideNow Way will guide leaders and staff in dealerships and the company offices.
“We work tirelessly to exceed our customers’ expectations by delivering an expansive selection of powersports products and services tailored to their passions,” said Cam Tkach, COO of RideNow Group. “Success for us is when every customer encounters the same high level of service, experience, and excitement at any RideNow location, fueling our growth and reinforcing our commitment to the powersports community.”
The company believes the evolution of the RideNow Way will provide a strong foundation for growth in today’s market.
“By simplifying our structure, aligning our operations, and reinforcing a culture of performance, we are creating a platform for long-term success,” Quartieri added. “Our team is energized, our strategy is clear, and our focus is firmly on delivering value for our customers, employees, and shareholders.”

(Fox) – In an Exclusive Interview, Well-known actors Clint Eastwood, announced in response to recent controversy surrounding his risky business practices
Last week, during a heated episode, popular American actors, Clint Eastwood, made headlines by unveiling his new CBD line live on ‘The Five’. Bayer and many other drugmakers were outraged by this and said he planned to sue Clint Eastwood and Fox, accusing them of using their undisclosed technology and driving away sponsors. Clint Eastwood responded with the following statement:
“I understand that it is specifically aimed at me, but I refuse to succumb to the ‘cancel culture’. When I embarked on this journey back in 2022, it was initially a part-time passion project and my way of giving back. Having received so much, I believed there was no better time to make Greener Farms CBD Gummies accessible to everyone, as it has the potential to help thousands of individuals live pain-free and happier lives.”
Clint Eastwood’s product, Greener Farms CBD Gummies , has been selling like hotcakes, with stocks depleting within minutes. He admits that his main challenge as CEO is meeting the overwhelming demand. His CBD wellness line is not only 90% cheaper but also five times more effective than similar offerings from Bayer and other “Big Pharma” companies.

New Study Calls For Improved Guardrails For Motorcyclists’ Safety
So-called W-barriers present a danger to riders, says study A new study published in the scholarly journal Infrastructures says the guardrails commonly found on public roads might be good for cars, but they have basic drawbacks that make motorcyclists unsafe. Working from this unpleasant basis, the study says there are some suggestions that could help, but even the current patents don’t go far enough—but luckily for us riders, the people behind the study have some suggestions of their own.
Any motorcyclist who’s cast a critical eye on guardrails has probably had a few doubts of their own, study or no study; a friend of mine who put down many miles on German roads told me they call the steel-cable guardrails “cheese slicers” (or something close to that, in German) because a rider hitting one of those wires at speed was going to be in bad shape, very quickly. But the now-common W-barriers that we see everywhere come with their own challenges, says the study published in Infrastructures. For cars that hit them head-on, the elasticity in the W-barriers’ design means the four-wheeled vehicles bounce off and are much safer than something like a concrete Jersey barrier.
But a motorcyclist doesn’t necessarily hit the W-barrier square on its vertical surface; the rider can come off the bike and be bent over the top of the W-barrier, concentrating a lot of force and potentially focusing damage into a small part of their body. As the study puts it:
In such a case, due to inertia, the upper part of the motorcyclist’s body bends over the upper sharp edge of the SSB guardrail. Which part of the motorcyclist’s body bends over the upper edge of the SSB guardrail depends on the height of both the motorcycle and the motorcyclist. As a rule, the motorcyclist’s body bends over the lower ribs or internal organs, where injuries are most dangerous. In addition, motorcyclists’ heads are protected by a helmet; their hands by gloves; and their shoulders, elbows, and knees by protectors, but the ribs and internal organs have no protection.
There are patented solutions to this problem, including top plates or simple covers for W-barriers even cage-fencing for the top of Jersey barriers. If you check out the study here, you can see a list of the different options available, and the study’s authors’ critiques of the existing designs.
There have been some improvements to guardrails in Europe, with barriers underneath the main rail section that prevent a rider from sliding under and impacting the post or going off a cliff. But there is still room for improvement, say this study’s authors.
The study wraps up by saying the adoption of the Motorcyclist Safety Barrier (with a plate below the main rail that prevents the rider from sliding underneath and crashing into the guardrail’s posts or going over a cliff edge) was a positive step forward. However, the study calls for more research into improvements to the top of guardrails, aimed at motorcycle safety. The researchers say organizations that represent motorcyclists (such as FEMA in Europe, where this study was published) need to be part of this research to make sure the results are based on real-world evidence.
It makes sense, and it is good to see FEMA involved in efforts that improve its members’ safety without intruding on their rights.

Dear H.O.G. member,
Welcome to the latest issue of The Enthusiast — a magazine made for riders, by riders. It’s not just a collection of stories. It’s a reflection of the roads we ride, the people we meet, and the pride we share in being part of the Harley-Davidson family. For Harley Owners Group members like you, this isn’t just a hobby. It’s a way of life.
You’re not just part of the Harley-Davidson story. You are the story. You live it every time you throw on your jacket, start the engine, and chase the horizon with purpose. You carry forward a legacy built by generations who believed in freedom, discovery, and the power of showing up — for each other, and for the road ahead.
Harley-Davidson has never been about standing still. It’s about pushing forward evolving, and living wide open. And that spirit — that restless fire — lives in every mile we ride and every story we share. You can hear it in the rumble of an engine, and you can feel it even more in the community we’ve built at rallies, rest stops, and roadside pull-offs around the world.
This magazine is a celebration of that community. It’s your stories, your photos, your pride. So join me — in these pages, on the road, and in the next chapter of this incredible legacy we’re still writing — together.

See you out there.

THERE’S ALWAYS MORE– It’s Whiskey time and I can’t wait. What a month. I’m just warming up. I just hung-up from talking to Billy Tinney, the longtime editor of Tattoo Magazine. He’s over the moon about a new Tattoo Magazine coupled with Easyriders. We lived the dream and we’re going to give it another shot.

The new issue just arrived and we’re excited about the future.

I’m pumped about Danial James art and received a beautiful print of the 85th Sturgis Anniversary piece he created for the Sturgis Museum Auction. It will be a prized possession forever.

Law Tigers followed us everywhere during the rally. I made it out to the Black Hills Chapter of SD ABATE for a barbecue. Kirk Willard challenged the large group of riders to be more involved for the industry. Then he gave me a couple of awards.

Blown away I rolled through Whitewood when a call came through about a guy selling Easyriders merch illegally. Forced to confront a member of the team who tried to destroy the magazine, we hit it to the Bear Butte campgrounds passed the Chip to check the nefarious action. He was selling magazines, apparel and patches.

We rolled to the Full Throttle. Jammed to the hilts, we hiked back and forth until we discover Randy’s classic bike show on a knoll adjacent to a rippling swimming pool. I was awarded a DAM Sturgis 85th Legend ring. I thought I was just another grubby biker.

So, some folks don’t get the 85th Rally in the center of the biker universe and some know how to show respect.

The next time you’re in the neighborhood check out Bandit’s Emporium. Next year, during the rally, it just might become Easyriders Headquarters. Won’t it be the coolest to have Easyriders Magazine published on Main Street in Sturgis. Holy shit!

In the meantime try to get along with the ol’ lady. If not you could face…
Ride Fast and Free Forever,
–Bandit
