I just received my VLXAFL official South Dakota Veteran’s license plate and I mounted it, and then discovered I had a set of these thick colored glass reflectors in 5-Ball orange. I immediately loosened the fasteners holding the Vietnam Veterans plate and replaced them with the Red Fox units. They ain’t plastic bullshit, but the real deal and packed with a signed card of authenticity and lifetime guarantee.
I installed them the same way they were packed with a dab of blue Loctite. Of course I used 5-Ball orange reflectors, but they are also available in lots of additional colors.
I took the fasteners and washers off the reflector stems and slipped the first beauty through the license plate hole. I left the other ¼-20 Allens in place to hold the license to the bracket.
I installed the stainless flat washer, a little blue Loctite and the polished nut. Careful not to over-tighten it, I added the lock washer and then the wing nut. Bada bing I was done and went onto the next fastener replacement until all four were completed.
