THE NUTS BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS—for July9th 2026

Hey,

You won’t want to miss the next issue of Easyriders Magazine, number 602. Danial James created this to illustrate a wild story about the state of the American motorcycle market. Hang on. The Wi-Fi was down in the Black Hills of South Dakota, so there’s pandemonium everywhere. Life is nuts and I need to go take the motorcycle test again tomorrow. The booklet is 45 pages long and I’m just halfway through it. Plus, it’s whiskey Thursday.

Yesterday, my Sirius Radio quit. I worked out and drove to the Emporium to take more shots of our new Tin ER signs for the Easyriders Website Shop. Then I met up with some AMCA guys for the cheap Wednesday dinner at Pizza Ranch. I swear, some of these guys eat like they won’t have dinner for another week.

Okay, next time I will take a shot of the stack of plates and chicken bones. I can’t eat fast enough to keep up with these bastards. Rusty took me out to his Ford high-top van and showed. “It’s my vanambulance,” he said and showed me his Italian auto lift at the back. Incredible.

Check these shots out and his Van is Massive, but I discovered he doesn’t get much better mileage than I do with my Nissan high-top van.

We are making plans to hit the road for Bonneville after the Rally. Here’s the famous Bonne Belle at Departure Bike Works in Richmond. It’s close and the other day Brian called from the shop to announce his partners want to come to Bonneville.

Is this bike cute or what. We may be able to set a couple of records.

Let’s hit the news.

The Bikernet Weekly News was created by our non-stop, never give up staff: The Redhead, Wayfarer, LA Laura, Viscous Vickie, Danial James, Freak Show Team, Sturgis Prospect Kendra, Paul Davis, Agent Zebra and Berry Wardlaw.

THIS IS HOT NEWS–Vendor Space IS available on Lazelle ON the Samson building lot during the rally. Here’s the number to call. It’s Dave Wilson: 605-347-7579.

That’s not all. If you want to be near the rally, but you have a tight budget. There are cool vendor spaces available at the Hideaway Bar and Restaurant in Whitewood. It’s a terrific lowkey location. Call Vinnie for info: 303-570-1535

HEAD WORK SECRETS–This is from Paul Davis an friend and old machinist in South Carolina.

He’s doing this for a customer in NC. Here goes:

Also, I said 1 more angle but forgot to say for a angle valve job. Which was not my first choice by the way. I didn’t use my Serdi cutters. Which is 39 deg. top cut then the 45 seat angle. On the intake seat then a 70 degree cut. On exhaust the sequence is a bit different. The bottom cut below the 45 degree seat angle is a 10 degree angle. This is from Joe Mondello’s Da Goat.

Both valve’s get relieved on top of the seat into the chamber. The intake valve seat is all angle cuts! This is for Fuel Shear.

The exhaust valve you want a radius under the 45 deg. seat to getrid of all the burnt gases our of the head as fast as possible.

Modello found all this in his testing using his wet flow bench.

The latest popular technique is called a Tooled finish in the intake port and chamber.  Exhaust port is a mirror polish finish, which help to remove all the exhast gasses out as fast as possible, so they don’t get sucked back in the intake port on overlap!

Flowing and testing heads is one of the biggest  Black Holes there is! Valve design, shape and finish is another black hole.

Wet flow bench testing and using a Swirl meter are other tools that you use, along with port mapping!

Science Man and the Blacck Hole!

Wet flow testing is used to find where unatomzed fuel/air is puddling in the chamber.

You check swirl to see how good your ports are working. Think of swirl like it’s watching the bottom of your toilet when you flush that brown trout. equate a textured finish to them damn dimples on a golf ball. Got it??

Understand Kemosabe?

Joe Mondello and Darin Morgan work on this alot.

Classic Easyriders Tins

Danial James produces his fine art on  classic tin signs. It gives even the guy on limited beer money budget the opportunity to collect his art in a tough resilient way. Hell, he can line his garage and wipe ‘em off and move them inside the house.

So, I dug into these tin bastards. The tin sign movement started out of necessity and innovation during the 1800s. Originally hand painted, they were a great way to advertise products such as Coca-Cola in a way that would last, retain its color and durability inside or outside in the elements. Machines for stamping, cutting and trimming tin sheets were developed around 1875 in Europe and America.

These tin-plated steel sheets are 24 gauge and because of the resilient tin coating are food friendly. You can eat off them. They are 100 percent UV printed in an eight-color process and cleared for a lasting finish. Everything in all USA produced.

Morris Magneto — Our family is moving to Virginia at the end of July. We’re super excited about the new house and shop, and can’t wait to get settled in. The plan is to move between late July and early August and have both FNA and Morris up and running again by mid-August. If you’re looking for FNA parts or magnetos, place your order now as our turnaround time is currently fast and efficient. – Thanks, Eric

ARTICLE IN PROCESS—I’m working with Agent Zebra on the article of articles. It shouldn’t be a big deal, but it is.

It’s as if our leaders have lost their way and need to be reminded why they are elected.

We’ve done some research, Agent Zebra is reaching out to the heavy weights in the government.

Hang on .

The American Way Story

We have real problems in this country. Families feel it every day: prices are too high, borders are too open, schools sometimes push ideas parents reject, and too many leaders seem more interested in power than in solving your problems.

But let’s tell the truth first: We are living in the best of times in human history. Americans today are healthier, live longer, are more capable, and have more opportunities than any generation before us. Technology, medicine, food, and freedom have given us progress our grandparents could only dream about. This didn’t happen by accident. It came from Western civilization’s bold experiment in individual liberty, honest work, and limited government—the same ideas that built unmatched prosperity and power.

Now we must protect what works and fix what’s broken. History is clear: when big government and socialist-style movements win, they often replace freedom with control and corruption. We’ve seen it unfolding in recent years. Globalist policies keep attacking the values that made America exceptional—personal responsibility, integrity, secure borders, and equality under the law. This country stood strong against fascism and other threats before. It can do it again.

So, what does “Make America Great Again” actually mean for the average hardworking American?

It’s straightforward and practical—like running your own household with common sense:

Secure the border: Enforce the law. Control who comes in so we can take care of our own citizens first—jobs, schools, hospitals, and public safety. Deporting those here illegally who commit crimes is not hate; it’s basic responsibility.

Bring costs down and jobs back: Stop reckless spending that fuels inflation. Unleash American energy (“Drill, baby, drill”), cut regulations, and bring manufacturing home so a single paycheck can support a family again.

Lower taxes and reduce government overreach: Let working people keep more of their money. Protect Social Security and Medicare for those who paid in. Get bureaucrats out of the way of small businesses and families.

Strength and security: Rebuild the military for real peace through strength. Restore law and order in our cities. End the weaponization of government against ordinary citizens.

Common sense values: Protect women’s sports. Let parents have a real say in their children’s education. Ensure fair elections. Teach kids to work hard, tell the truth, and be proud of America.

These are not complicated ideas. They flow straight from the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights: All people are endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights—life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Government’s job is to protect those rights, not grant them or take them away. Free speech, religious liberty, the right to bear arms, due process, and private property are guardrails, not suggestions.

This is the American way. It gives you the freedom to change jobs, start a business, raise your family by your values, speak your mind, and build a better life. Without it, opportunity fades and government grows bigger than the people it’s supposed to serve.

We stand with President Trump’s leadership on these priorities, but the mission is bigger than any one person. It belongs to all of us—truck drivers, factory workers, farmers, teachers, small business owners, parents, and neighbors—who want honest government, real opportunity, and a secure future.

The honest politicians need to tell this story clearly and confidently. Americans don’t need despair or division. They need the truth: We have built the best system in history. Now we must defend it, improve it, and pass it on stronger.

Let’s wake people up—not with fear, but with pride and purpose. The best times can keep getting better, but only if we choose to keep what made them possible.

CRAZY, INTERNET CRASHED—But wait, Danielle above sent me a series of killer shots. We want to talk to her about being on the cover.

My internet crashed this morning and phone calls dropped. A mild thunderstorm hit the Black Hills last night, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Our famous art director who lives with her family a mile away behind the Deadwood Lodge, in Deadwood. She’s with another carrier, but her’s was toast until about 11:00 am.

So, I’m here studying my navel wondering what to do. I drove over to the post office and mailed a couple packages. A contributor didn’t receive his mags. We needed to complain to the printer regarding the last print run and I sent a copy with notes to the printer.

I started to suit up and head to the shop, but I can’t check the tracking on the Lowbrow order of two new exhaust manifold clamps. They are on their way.

I said, “Fuck it.” I drove to Spearfish to pick up a wheel with a new tire. Holy shit, tires are expensive. And the guys at Departure want to replace the Bonne Belle tires.

And I finally got around to making two new spark plug wires with the right shit for the Knuck I hope to ride around during the rally. Here’s the tools it took to make it happen after watching the Lowbrow YouTube videos on getting it done.

It was a serious challenge, but I learned something I might share. I need to start riding this around on a regular basis, maybe tomorrow.

In the meantime, Ride Fast and Free Forever,

–Bandit
