This is a strange day in paradise. I watched Tucker Carlson’s interview with Jason Aldean. Jason pointed out how nasty Los Angeles is because of progressive policies. A thief can break into your shop and steel over $500 in goods and you can’t have him arrested. If you attempt to stop him or her, you will be arrested. Hell, the cops won’t come.

I read recently that an illegal in some Washington state communities can crawl over the fence into your yard and set up camp. You will be arrested if you try to remove him or her.

The list goes on and on. But wait, most of us get up every day, go to work, pay our bills, taxes and follow the laws of the land. We go about life as if everything is cool. I preach about joining motorcycle rights groups and we should support the brothers and sisters who fight to keep us free.

I’m sure you know the climate alarmist want to ban your motorcycles, stoves, heaters and recently started to attack refrigerators. I truly believe that if folks really knew what’s happening to our country they would step up.

POLITICAL ACTION MRF PAC--With election season in full swing, it is a prime opportunity to talk a little about the Motorcycle Riders Foundation Political Action Committee (MRF PAC). The MRF PAC is an entity that raises money and then disburses those funds to candidates for federal office.

The MRF PAC is nonpartisan and supports candidates regardless of their party affiliation. The MRF PAC Board looks to back candidates for office who have shown a sustained commitment to protecting bikers’ rights. The PAC receives requests for funds from MRF members and votes on which candidates will receive a check.

During the current 2-year election cycle, ten (10) candidates for office have received financial support from the PAC, including all four leaders of the House Motorcycle Caucus: Reps. Troy Balderson, Donald Norcross, Derrick Van Orden and Tim Walberg.

Using PAC funds is a fantastic way for MRF members to show support for our champions on Capitol Hill and strengthen the personal relationships that bikers have built with lawmakers. Recently, ABATE of Michigan used MRF PAC funds to support Rep. Lisa McClain. In her four years in office, Rep. McClain has built an incredible bond with the riders in Michigan and has helped champion the legislative priorities of the MRF. Motorcyclists in Michigan have attended rallies, put up yard signs and have now used PAC funds to support her reelection.

When it comes to being effective advocates in Washington, D.C., there are many tools in the toolbox. The MRF PAC is just one of those tools, so we thank all those who back the PAC. Your contributions help us aid those who stand by us in our nation’s capital and encourage others to support our cause.

BIKERNET GUN NUT REPORT--California: Anti-Gun Bills Pass Legislature, Heading to Governor’s Desk

Yesterday, the California legislature passed two anti-gun bills that will now head to Governor Newsom for his signature. NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to contact Governor Newsom today and urge him to veto these bills!

Senate Bill 53 prohibits firearm possession in the home unless the firearms are stored in a firearm safety device that is approved by the Department of Justice. SB 53 ignores the U.S. Supreme Court decision in D.C v. Heller which argued that storage requirements that prevent gun owners from easily accessing their firearms are unconstitutional.

Assembly Bill 2917 expands upon California’s existing Gun Violence Protective Order to allow the court to also consider “threats” directed towards a group or location when deciding whether to issue the order. If issued, Gun Violence Protective Orders result in a five year firearm prohibition, subject to indefinite renewals. These so-called “red flag” orders deprive citizens of their fundamental rights and property without due process safeguards and a clear evidentiary basis.

TOM HARDY CRIME THRILLER-- Becomes Streaming Hit After $35M Box Office Disappointment

The Bikeriders becomes a hit on streaming after a disappointing run at the box office. Directed by Jeff Nichols and based on Danny Lyon's photo book of the same name, The Bikeriders stars Austin Butler as Benny, a young biker who finds himself torn between his loyalty to his new club, the Vandals, and Kathy (Jodie Comer), his girlfriend.

The film, which stars Tom Hardy as Johnny, the violent leader of the Vandals, was released earlier this year and grossed only $35.8 million worldwide.

New data from Reelgood reveals that The Bikeriders ranks as the tenth most popular movie on streaming for the week of August 22 – 28.

Made on an estimated budget of $40 million, The Bikeriders failed to break even in theaters despite positive reviews and an impressive cast. The film currently enjoys a respectable 80% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and scored 75% with audiences.

A major reason for the film's underperformance is its budget, as mid-budget movies that lack the spectacle of big-budget blockbuster fare can be a harder sell in theaters these days. The film's biker gang subject matter and historical setting probably also gave the project more niche appeal.

That being said, Butler, Hardy, and Comer are evidently enough to draw audiences on streaming. Hardy has been a reliable talent for years now, and, in addition to playing Venom, he's made a name for himself in the mid-budget thriller space in which he often plays unique, highly flawed characters.

Butler, too, is very much a star on the rise as he recently starred as Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two, which was critically acclaimed, as well as Apple TV+'s 2024 miniseries, Masters of the Air.

Wayfarer notes: Apparently all online fans of this movie believe the marketing of this movie was wrong, leading to such a big box office failure. The film was depicted as an action movie in trailers and as a crime-thriller in paperwork of the promotions---thus misrepresenting the storyline and misinforming the audiences. Well, that and as Bikernet.com readers had mentioned after the movie's release--its not really an honest nor a complete depiction of the biker lifestyle. Kind of like showing the very brief worst part in a large family that may quarrel or disagree but sticks together with a bond of blood (or oil) under one roof.
