Hey,

Everything today is time sensitive.
Hell, if you buy a coffee maker, it has a time sensitive carbon filter, that must be replace on time or… Then there’s every political pitch you receive on your phone or in your email. I’m concerned the funds never reach the candidate.

Of course, there’s climate doom and if we don’t fix everything on time, we’re doomed. I just started to read a college presentation by Alex Epstein. We are very fortunate to have him. So, a student at Gettysburg College asked him about Bill McKibben’s book Economy Class. It’s a book about all the negative side effects of Fossil Fuels from an economic perspective. Of course, this book is all about doom.

This is Alex's new book. Watch for it and the Center for Industrial Progress.
This is Alex's new book. Watch for it and the Center for Industrial Progress.

Alex pointed-out the major flaw in Bill’s book. It doesn’t cover the positive side effects of using fossil fuels, which are massive. The fact that he only covers one side of the issue, basically throws his book out the window.

You can read more from Alex at Energytalkingpoints.com

He is giving us all the real data on the Climate Doom issue, both sides of the story. Let’s hit the news:

MEETING OF THE MINDS 2023 – LISTENING & MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The Motorcycle Riders Foundation listens.

Culminating 18 months of planning and fulfilment, the MRF ended Meeting of the Minds 2022 by reviewing input from over three hundred attendees.

Meeting of the Minds 2023 will reflect that the MRF listens and what we heard will make a difference in building the MRF and strong partner state motorcyclists’ rights organizations.

Bikers inside the Beltway 2023 was a total success because of the work the MRF does at the Meeting of the Minds addressing the needs of members and our partner SMROs. The feedback we received from MOTM 2022 put us on track with new workshops, more workshops, and new presenters with topical presentations.

This year, we added four workshops for a total of sixteen! Although some workshops are updates of annual presentations, we’ve added ten new presenters and a slew of new topics.

If you or your SMRO is social media challenged, meet Joy Mack. She’s a Twenty-First Century wizard who understands the challenges individuals and SMROs face when delving into social media. Her workshop --- The Power of Social Media: A Catalyst for Recruitment -- is tailored to putting the “social media challenged” into a comfort zone – and because we know her workshop will have high demand; we’re offering it twice!

Wondering why the MRF and our partner SMROs have such a high success rate on Capitol Hill and state legislatures? Meet Steve Panten, he and Dave Dwyer will provide attendees a few hundred ways on Building Effective Legislative Lobbying Efforts, another key to positive advocacy for motorcyclists’ rights.

Bikers inside the Beltway, Meeting of the Minds – the Motorcycle Riders Foundation --listening and making a difference.

LIVEWIRE RESULTS DOWN--

With 63 units sold globally for Q1, LiveWire ONE electric motorcycles sales were off 13% and consolidated revenue was reported to be down 25% year-over-year.

Electric Motorcycles revenue was down 36% in the first quarter, due to lower unit sales of LiveWire ONE units and the inclusion of Harley-Davidson LiveWire units in Q1 2022 prior to the accounting carve-out.

Electric Motorcycles revenue was down 36% in the first quarter, due to lower unit sales of LiveWire ONE units and the inclusion of Harley-Davidson LiveWire units in Q1 2022 prior to the accounting carve-out, notes Morrissey.

The group’s other brand, STACYC was also off in Q1. STACYC revenue was down 22% in the first quarter, due to our channel partners for electric balance bikes taking a more conservative approach to inventory in response to the macro environment as compared to the first quarter of 2022.

STACYC’s operating loss for the first quarter was negative $0.1 million versus operating income of $1.0 million a year ago, driven by lower volumes.

First Quarter 2023 Business Highlights:

• Sold 63 LiveWire ONE electric motorcycles compared to 72 LiveWire ONE electric motorcycles in the prior year.

• Continued development of the Del Mar platform during the quarter to ready Del Mar for production ramp-up with first deliveries targeted for Q3 2023.

• On track to expand European distribution with retail partners in 4 priority markets with sales of LiveWire ONE expected to begin mid-May followed by Del Mar introduction.

NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON CVO MOTORCYCLES
DELIVER EXTRAORDINARY DESIGN, PERFORMANCE AND TECHNOLOGY

CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide Powered by Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 Engine

Harley-Davidson elevates the motorcycle riding experience with the mid-year introduction of two premium 2023 models from Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO). The new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models showcase advanced technology, enhanced rider comfort and dynamic performance propelled by the powerful new Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine. Exclusive and dramatic new visual designs present a transformative revision of the Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring platform.

Iconic Design, Redefined

The new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models feature stunning new design clearly evolved from the familiar shapes of previous Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring motorcycles.

Both models feature fairings with integrated venting and LED signature lighting with integrated turn signals. Additional design elements include a trimmed front fender, a new 6-gallon fuel tank with a distinctive side bevel, and saddlebags with a three-dimensional shape in harmony with the fairings and fuel tank.

The new Combo Cast Laced wheels make a bold custom statement with a black machine-cut cast-aluminum rim and laced spokes. Each model will be offered in two highly detailed finish options.

Pinnacle Performance

The new 121-cubic inch V-Twin Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine establishes a new benchmark for factory-installed torque and displacement available in a Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle and features optimized liquid-cooled cylinder heads with a new cooling system, variable valve timing (VVT), a new intake tract and performance exhaust system.

Dry weight has been reduced significantly – by 31 pounds for the CVO Street Glide model and by 35 pounds for the CVO Road Glide model – compared to the models they replace.

High-performance front and rear SHOWA suspension components promote confident handling and provide a dramatic improvement in rider comfort compared to previous CVO models, with rear suspension travel increased by 50 percent. Premium Brembo braking components offer outstanding braking feel and performance for added rider confidence.

For the first time the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models offer selectable Ride Modes – Road, Sport and Rain – that electronically control a specific combination of power delivery, engine braking, Cornering-Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) and Cornering-Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings.

The CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models will make a U.S. public debut in Milwaukee during the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival, July 13-16, 2023. Both models will reach authorized Harley-Davidson dealer showrooms globally in mid-July.

BIKERNET BOOK OF THE WEEK CLUB--Publisher: Veloce

By Brian Agnew & Ivan Rhodes

Hardback • 20.7x25cm • 128 pages • 97 pictures

An in-depth engineering analysis of the twin-cylinder motorcycles produced by Veloce Ltd: the Roarer, the Model O and the LE. The book looks at the design features that are common to all three twins, as well as the design influences of the LE.

Although development of the LE was flawed, the honesty and ingenuity of the design is duly recognized.

The Veloce company is well regarded for producing some of the best single-cylinder motorcycles in race form and for private use.

It is not so well-known that Veloce Ltd also produced some twin-cylinder machines: the Roarer, for racing, and the Model O for production. These bikes had many engineering features in common, such as twin contra-rotating crank shafts, inline cranks, shaft drive, and swing arm rear suspension.

The supercharged Roarer was never raced because of the advent of war; this also put paid to the development of the Model O, which would have been the first so-called “Superbike.”

After the war, the Goodman family, owners of Veloce Ltd, focused on the production of a “Motorcycle for Everyman” – an idea that had featured in their production bikes since the formation of the company. They drew on the ideas embodied in the Roarer and the Model O to produce the twin cylinder LE range of motorcycles. These, however, were not well received by the motorcycling public, and many blame the production of the LE for the eventual demise of the company.

The purpose of the book is to present, from an engineering perspective, an analysis of the Roarer and the Model O, comparing and contrasting the methods adopted by their designers to meet the different design specifications of these bikes, and to illustrate how the ideas developed in this exercise appeared in the LE range of motorcycles.

The authors, Brian Agnew and Ivan Rhodes, met in the 1960s when Brian worked at Rolls-Royce Derby. They spent their weekends tinkering with motorcycles, and both have an intimate knowledge of the Velocette twins both from their time spent together and from their personal projects.

WATCH WHAT’S COMING FROM THE GREASY KULTURE--

A '60s style chopper saved from '90s style hell!

The nineties wasn't a golden era for motorcycle customizing: Panheads like Joe Juran's were subjected to ugly disc-brake front ends and puke paint jobs; luckily he dragged this one out of a Florida garage where it had sat unchanged for over 30 years and treated it to a rebuild more befitting its era. And doesn't it look fine?

THE FREE SPEECH CASE FILE WIDE OPEN--

TELEGRAPH: UK Govt., BBC, And Google-Facebook Secretly Censored
Special investigation spectacularly proves the reality of the Censorship Industrial Complex

I wish we had better news. Governments around the world remain close to passing and enacting laws to drastically curtail the freedom of citizens to express their minds. And in the US, corporate advertisers, including Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, are punishing Twitter owner Elon Musk for protecting freedom of speech at Twitter.

We are fighting back. From June 22 - 23 in London, Matt Taibbi, Russell Brand, and free speech defenders from around the world will gather in London to launch a new free speech movement.

To be sure, our opponents are strong and united, while we are weak and divided. We have never met the free speech defenders we are meeting around the world. We only know each other through video, emails, and messages. We have never before solicited donations for free speech advocacy and have little money to pay for travel and accommodations for the people flying into London.

But we have something our opponents don’t, which is the love of freedom and a passion to protect and expand it. While the forces of self-censorship and censorship are powerful, large majorities of citizens everywhere in the world want the right to express their views freely and without risk of being censored or otherwise punished.

And now, the mainstream media are finally covering the truth. After months and years of the media and governments lying about their censorship, calling the exceedingly well-documented Censorship Industrial Complex a “conspiracy theory,” mainstream newspapers are starting to cover the truth.
