I wish I knew what to make out of anything.
I spoke to an old friend who is a criminal attorney in Los Angeles. He also owns a lot in Sturgis. We kicked around a few things and the conversation roamed to the Covid situation. He had a case set for sentencing in Philadelphia and was faced with flying. He couldn’t stand the thought so he drove out.

“Philly did not go well,” Rob said. “This was my second case in front of the same Federal Judge there. The first one was a great victory. The second one, not so much. Will tell you the whole saga over beer or Jack Daniels.”

Yesterday, I walked to the Deadwood Rec center for my Wednesday workout. As I stepped off the tall, frozen metal steps a Softail rolled into the gas station/liquor store, the Pack Horse station. It might reach 50 degrees and a low of 25.

I walked over to the rider and said, “Where the fuck do you think you’re going?”

He said, “Nowhere.” He was just warming his bikes, charging batteries and making sure they were running properly. I wanted to ride my Indian to the dealership in Sturgis, but there’s still slippery ice on every corner. Still, the desire was there. It snowed again last night.

WE WANT TO TRY THIS PETCOCK--Prism Supply Petcock - 22mm
$94.99 USD
Our petcocks are guaranteed for life! If you're having an issue with it you can send it back to us and we will rebuild it for no additional cost!

This unique petcock fits direct to a 22MM bung on your gas tank. This keeps your gas tank looking very clean. It features a 5/16" diameter hose barb on one end and a fuel filter on the other. We recommend using our 1/4" Fuel Line for a snug, leak proof fit. Rotating the cylindrical piece with the two grooves is how the fuel is toggled on and off. The fuel line does not rotate while toggling the fuel on/off. No reserve.

NEW STAFF COMMENT--Wow. That was great. The Life and Times of Bandit. The Vietnam era and so much of what that entails. The system both civil and military. The insight and the pain of the injustice. The revolution of the time and the long-suffering years of evolution to correct and improve. The always confusing couples game and societal bs. Fuck me.
Brilliant job Boss.

Thanks Sam. These stories are a struggle to understand the times and mostly myself. Plus, every writing effort is a learning experience.

NEW BOOK RECOMMENDATION FROM CLIMATE DEPOT--Greenpeace co-founder Dr. Patrick Moore’s new book: ‘Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom’--Greenpeace co-founder Dr. Patrick Moore’s new book: ‘Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom’

Here is Dr. Patrick Moore's description of his unique thesis as presented in Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom.

"It dawned on me one day that most of the scare stories in the media today are based on things that are either invisible, like CO2 and radiation, or very remote, like polar bears and coral reefs. Thus, the average person cannot observe and verify the truth of these claims for themselves.

They must rely on activists, the media, politicians, and scientists - all of whom have a huge financial and/or political interest in the subject - to tell them the truth.

This is my effort, after 50 years as a scientist and environmental activist, to expose the misinformation and outright lies used to scare us and our children about the future of the Earth. Direct observation is the very basis if science. Without verified observation it is not possible to know the truth. That is the sharp focus of this book."

The book contains 98 color photographs, illustrations, and charts. A key target audience is parents who do not approve of the "progressive" school curriculum and its alarmism about the future of civilization and the natural world.

Dr. Moore hopes these parents will read his book and pass it on to their high-school and older children to give them an alternative to the bleak future predicted by the prophets of doom. Many other audiences will also find the book informative and convincing.

In 11 chapters the reader is clearly shown that citizens are being misinformed by many environmental doomsday prophesies, ones they cannot verify for themselves. We are told that nuclear energy is very dangerous when the numbers prove it is one of the safest technologies.

We are told polar bears will go extinct soon when their population has been growing steadily for nearly 50 years.

We are told that there is something harmful in genetically modified food crops when it is invisible, has no name and no chemical formula. We are told severe forest fires are caused by climate change when they are actually caused by poor management of fuel load (dead wood) in the forest.

We are told that all the coral reefs will die by 2100 when in fact the most diverse coral reefs are found in the warmest oceans in the world. And of course, we are told that invisible CO2 from using fossil fuels, accounting for more than 80 percent of our energy supply, will make the Earth too hot for life.

All of these scare stories, and many more, are simply not true. And this book will convince you, your family, and your colleagues of that. There is no substitute for the truth.

Dr. Patrick Moore was one of the co-founders of Greenpeace and sailed on the first Greenpeace campaign against US H-bomb tests in Alaska. Upon receiving his PhD in ecology, he spent 15 years in the top committee of Greenpeace and led many of its environmental campaigns.

Greenpeace began as a group of volunteers with noble intentions. Over the years it became very successful with campaigns to save the whales, stop the mass slaughter of baby seals, prevent toxic dumping into the air, water and earth, and many more.

Greenpeace found itself in the early 1980s with more than $100 million coming in annually and close to 1,000 people on the payroll. It had become a business and fundraising moved to the top of the priority list.

New campaigns were more about using sensationalism, misinformation and fear to attract donations. Dr. Moore said good-bye in 1986 as Greenpeace was turning into a racket peddling junk science.

Since then, he has strived to be a sensible environmentalist, basing his beliefs on sound science and logical thinking. This book is the culmination of 50 years of learning during Dr. Moore's multi-faceted quest for the truth about environmental issues (an historical account of Dr. Moore's 15 years with Greenpeace and his analysis of environmental subjects are in his previous book, "Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout - The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist, also on Amazon).

This is a fun one, we wanted to create a higher flow air cleaner without the punishment of it sticking further out and interfering with your knee. The end result is the Air Stinger. The black teardrop version is my favorite! ~DZ

Air Stinger High Flow Air Cleaner Kit

S&S Cycle’s Stealth air cleaner kits have been a solid performance addition for the v-twin market since their launch in 2012 and we see them on a ton of bikes. Each year they seem to improve the franchise with a new cover or fitment and we’re definitely liking their latest addition.

The Air Stinger takes the existing high flow Stealth air cleaner and replaces the air smoothing stinger with a similarly shaped filter element. More filter surface equals a 55% gain over a factory filter in an M8. “Big bore and mod’d engines require additional air flow and the Air Stinger was designed specifically for those needs” states S&S Product manager Grant Hilligass.

The Air Stinger is also available with the classic Mini Teardrop cover in black or chrome (hard to go wrong with the S&S Teardrop!) or as a replacement cover plate to update your existing Stealth system. The S&S Air Stinger filter element is washable just like the Stealth filters and designed to last for years. Applications for most Harley® Models from 2001 to current. Check them out on their site at https//

BIKERNET UNIVERSITY HISTORY LESSON--Crazy Horse fights last battle

On January 8, 1877, Oglala Lakota warrior Crazy Horse and his men—outnumbered, low on ammunition and forced to use outdated weapons to defend themselves—fight their final losing battle against the U.S. Cavalry in Montana.

Six months earlier, in the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Crazy Horse and his ally, Sitting Bull, led their combined forces of Sioux and Cheyenne to a stunning victory over Lieutenant Colonel George Custer (1839-76) and his men. The Native Americans were resisting the U.S. government’s efforts to force them back to their reservations.

After Custer and over 200 of his soldiers were killed in the conflict, later dubbed “Custer’s Last Stand,” the American public wanted revenge. As a result, the U.S. Army launched a winter campaign in 1876-77, led by General Nelson Miles (1839-1925), against the remaining tribes on the Northern Plains.

Combining military force with diplomatic overtures, Nelson convinced many Native Americans to surrender and return to their reservations. Much to Nelson’s frustration, though, Sitting Bull refused to give in and fled across the border to Canada, where he and his people remained for four years before finally returning to the U.S. to surrender in 1881. Sitting Bull died in 1890. Meanwhile, Crazy Horse and his band also refused to surrender, even though they were suffering from illness and starvation.

On January 8, 1877, General Miles found Crazy Horse’s camp along Montana’s Tongue River. U.S. soldiers opened fire with their big wagon-mounted guns, driving the Native Americans from their warm tents out into a raging blizzard.

Crazy Horse and his warriors managed to regroup on a ridge and return fire, but most of their ammunition was gone, and they were reduced to fighting with bows and arrows. They managed to hold off the soldiers long enough for the women and children to escape under cover of the blinding blizzard before they turned to follow them.

Though he had escaped decisive defeat, Crazy Horse realized that Miles and his well-equipped cavalry troops would eventually hunt down and destroy his cold, hungry followers. On May 6, 1877, Crazy Horse led approximately 1,100 Native Americans to the Red Cloud reservation near Nebraska’s Fort Robinson and surrendered. Five months later, a guard fatally stabbed him after he allegedly resisted imprisonment by policemen.

In 1948, American sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski began work on the Crazy Horse Memorial, a massive monument carved into a mountain in South Dakota. Still a work in progress, the monument will stand 641 feet high and 563 feet long when completed.

Our society is so determined to make white guys all bad. They fail to study history before the white man came, and how tribes wiped out and tortured other tribes for hundreds of years.

Hell, we want to blame the white man for taking California when the Spanish first wiped out the Chumash Indians long before the white man arrived.--Bandit

A DEALERNEWS FLASH BACK-- The King on the cover of The Enthusiast, Harley-Davidson’s house organ circa 1956. A 21-year-old Elvis Presley was the editors pick to click… here is what they said:

“How does Elvis rate cover position in the ENTHUSIAST? He is a Harley-Davidson rider and is shown on his third motorcycle. He started out as the owner of a 165 and at present rides the 1956 KH. It is a red and white model and is his favorite. His new life makes great demands on him but, he still finds time to roll up some miles on his KH. Good Luck for your future, Elvis.”

Today he would be 86 years old, Happy Birthday Elvis Presley!

WIN THIS ’46 KNUCKLEHEAD--The first overhead valve V-twin Harleys hit the road in 1936, but their style, their amazing sheet metal design already lived-in previous machines from the Motor Company. Received well at the time, the motorcycle is now an American design legend, has gained the nickname “Knucklehead” for the shape of its rocker boxes and will live on forever in high regard.

But back in the 1930s there began a customizing trend that called for removing unnecessary bodywork like the front fender, changing exhausts, seats, even modifying frames.

17 years of brotherhood are now memories with one ALR brother riding the silent highway, watching over his brothers and sisters of American Legion Post 104 in Pinellas Park, Florida.

Butch recalled how Jody Hall was an all-around “Wildman” and best brother you could ever ask for. Loves of his life included his family/wife, motorcycles, and his brothers and sisters. Jody was always known to be there for anyone in need. This sentiment is echoed by the ALR and extended Post family.

Jody was a charter member of the ALR Post 104, and Sgt-At-Arms, and retired after 23 years in the Air Force – Security Forces/LE and service to the country he loved. After all of his years of distinguished service to the USA, he became an unfortunate statistic of PTSD.

The remaining Post 104 family is channeling their forces to make the Second Annual Jody Hall Memorial Ride, a celebration of his life, and bring awareness to Veterans Suicide Prevention.

All are welcome – two, three or four wheels – on Saturday, January 30th, 2021 –

QUICK, OPEN THE BANDIT’S CANTINA BAD JOKE LIBRARY-- Joe met his friend Jack at a pub and asked "Heard you have been given a new role in your company, what are you now?"

Jack replied , "Yes I am my boss's sexual adviser."

Somewhat shocked, Joe said, "I beg your pardon, but what do you mean by that?"

"Very simple," Jack answered, "My boss has told me that when he wants my fucking advice, he'll ask me for it."

MORE FROM THE BIKERNET UNIVERSITY FINAL EXAMS--“Capital” vs. “Capitol”: Do You Know Where You’re Going?

Capital and capitol are both commonly used in political contexts and are separated by just one letter, making them frustratingly easy to confuse.

When it comes to these two terms, it’s important to note that one has a number of meanings while the other refers to a certain type of building.

What is a capital?
Capital has many definitions. It can mean “the wealth owned or employed in business by an individual, firm, corporation, etc.”; and it can mean “principal; highly important,” as in safety was their capital concern. Also, it can mean “uppercase letter.”

But the capital that gives most people trouble is this one: “the city or town that is the official seat of government in a country or state,” as in the capital of California is Sacramento or the capital of the United States is Washington, DC.

What is a capitol?
Capitol also has to do with government, but it is more specific: capitol is defined as “a building occupied by a state legislature.” When the word Capitol is capitalized, it refers to the United States Capitol, a building in Washington, DC, that hosts Congress, the legislative branch of the US federal government.

Both capital and capitol are derived from the Latin root caput, meaning “head.” Capital evolved from the words capitalis, “of the head,” and capitale, “wealth.” Capitol comes from Capitolium, the name of a temple (dedicated to Jupiter, the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Zeus) that once sat on the smallest of Rome’s seven hills, Capitoline Hill.

How do I tell the difference?
Because capital and capitol are so close in spelling, it can be challenging to remember which word denotes what. As a mnemonic trick, consider the importance of the letter O in capitol. This O stands for “only one” definition, while the A in capital stands for “all the rest.” If that doesn’t work, try associating the O in capitol with the spherical dome of the US Capitol building.

Once you know the difference, you can use them correctly. When you are referring to a building, you should use capitol:

Hundreds of protesters turned out for a rally at the capitol lawn.
During the massive restoration of the historic capitol, workers discovered some interesting artifacts, including a variety of valuable coins.
When you are referring to a city or town, you should use capital:

Denver is Colorado’s capital and a great place to visit if you’d like to explore the Rocky Mountains.
This quiz will test the children’s knowledge of the state capitals.

And when you’re referring to a music studio? That would be the Capitol Records building, but we’ll save music history for another day.

Now that you’ve mastered these differences, you should capitalize on the explanations of other mixed up words, like libel vs. slander and paradox vs. oxymoron.

I copied and pasted your article Mental Health Treatment Options At VA to my Facebook page. Then I added this comment - Some people have good results with the VA Mental Health Program and Others Not So Well.

I believe a lot depends on what facility and which Psychiatrist, Psychologist or Therapist you end up with.

I do suggest if you are a veteran and are having mental health issue that you do reach out to the VA for Help.

If you do not get the results you need remember that there are many veterans who have had these issue for years and seeking some of them out to help you with information and guidance is also something to be considered.

If you are not satisfied with how you are being treated by a VA facility contact

I did not get into any thing about them just wanting to give you drugs that totally fuck you up or their refusal and doing every thing they can to deny they are responsible for your condition and having to honor disability claims. Just my 2 cents

Editor Response Good one.
Looks like the govt. wants to reduce us to knives, tomahawks and bows and arrows. Looks like history repeating itself. This is a tomahawk I can get behind though.

I tried to buy ammo at Big 5 the other day here in the South Bay and they only have a supply in on Tuesdays and Thursdays and they sell out on both days.

The govt. is trying to control our mere existence where only the strong survive. That is why we are bikers .
