Hey,

Do you read horoscopes
, check your feng shui calendar, or any other sooth-saying window into the future. I don’t generally, but I do try to stay in tune with what’s going on around me. If I notice a particularly negative trend, my survival antennae elevates. I try to catch myself, before I slip into any extreme mode.

This week and last turned into weeks of strange conflicts and corruption. So, say someone stole your partner’s wallet. That’s a bummer, so you torture a couple of guys down the block to twist info from the grimy bastards. I’m kidding. But say that one swell of a negative wave turns into three, maybe four. I attempt to wrap them together, witness a trend and look for guidance. Am I making sense?

So, I’ll be mildly specific without being a snitch. My 93-year-old mom came face to face with a corrupt act within her elderly relatives. We are investigating. I’m working with a community group to further a waterfront in our area, but there’s been a negative twist in the leadership, but I can’t figure out why. Then someone tried to steal my grandson’s motorcycle by bullying his mother and using a cop. I was pulled into this mess, and the mother stood firm. The bike is still in place. The list goes on, including serious conflicts with an LA club and cops.

Could it be Halloween?

A couple more items of this nature surfaced on a broader scale like the club, and I started to see a trend. In some cases I was forced to act, but it’s best to pull back, relax, and take stock of the actions. The bullshit will pass ultimately, and the warm glow of the positive sun will shine once more.

Hang on! The Bikernet Thursday News is sponsored by Cycle Source Magazine and Iron Trader News.

THE CURE FOR A Tough week ahead?

Feeling kinda lousy?
So what are you gonna do about it?
Punch a wall . . . drink heavily . . . take anti-depressants?
How about NATURAL anti-depressants?
No pharmaceuticals, all natural . . . . .

A BIKERNET MOMENT OF REFLECTION--
"Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life. As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the back country.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost. I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late.

I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.

The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man.

And as I played "Amazing Grace", the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished, I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head was hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen anything like that before, and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years."

FILM EFFORT OF THE WEEK- Brian Darwas releases short film on artist Keith Weesner.

Film maker Brian Darwas currently produces feature length documentaries on Hot Rod and Motorcycle Culture. All of which have gone on to win awards, and have been well received. He's now changing things up a bit, making a handful short films that anyone can share freely.

"I feel it's important to our scene that high quality moving images, which can both awe and inspire, are available to anyone at anytime. My goal is to reach the younger generation. The generation of people who grew up on the Internet, and turn to it as a source of new ideas and inspiration. I'd like to instill in them the notion that hot rods, motorcycles, and building stuff by hand is still cool and relevant." ~ Brian Darwas

When asked why he chose to film Keith Weesner, Brian Darwas had this to say:

"Artists often come and go. Very few have what it takes to make it through the hard living that comes with earning no money while trying to establish yourself. . . and as if constantly creating something new and exciting wasn't hard enough, you also have to pay your dues and prove to the world that you're the real thing. That you're not just somebody who came along to latch on and make a quick buck.

Keith Weesner is just that, the real thing. His love for Hot Rods, Customs, and the general Culture that surrounds it all speaks for itself through his art. The paintings he paints and the cars he builds and drives. He's been doing this a long time and it shows. He didn't fade away when the going got tough, and he's been doing it before it was cool." ~ Brian Darwas

Each film will run anywhere from two, to five minutes. Once completed, they will be shared freely via the Internet, social media, etc. . . So, please share and help spread the word.

BIKE BUILDING BOOK OF THE WEEK--
Custom Bike Building ADVANCED is just what the title suggests. This book takes all the building advice presented in Custom Bike Building BASICS, and gives the reader MORE: Information on how to equip your shop. Tips and techniques for welding steel and with your MIG or TIG welder. Sheet metal fabrication forming sequences. Information on making your own handlebars and exhaust pipes. Help with making a leather seat cover that’s truly your own.

What hasn’t changed with this new book is the author – Chris Callen of Cycle Source magazine fame. Which means the book is written for riders working at home and in small shops. You don’t need a big catalog of aftermarket parts, you only need this book, a small set of tools, your own imagination and the drive to see the project through to the end.

Like the Basics book, this one includes three, start-to-finish bike assemblies. And like that earlier book, this one leans toward the earlier Harley-Davidson powerplants – Knuckleheads, Pans, Shovels and Ironhead Sportys – built on a budget by real people with a little grease under their fingernails.

HERE’S AN ON-GOING CONFLICT--Aussie bikers ordered off Stuart farm, their own property.

Rebels motorcycle club members in Townsville in the Australian state of Queensland have been ordered off their Stuart property known as “The Farm” after the land was added to the list of banned places under state anti-biker legislation.

The Rebels motorcycle club building on Ingham Rd was classified as a prescribed place under the Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment (VLAD) laws last year and shut down.

The Odin’s Warriors clubhouse on Leyland St was also on the first list of 40 banned locations.

But The Farm was not initially on that list, leaving members of the club free to use the property.

Northern Region crime co-ordinator Acting Superintendent Cheryl Scanlon confirmed The Farm was now on the list and detectives went to the property on Saturday and notified members of the club they had to vacate the premises.

It is understood they were given until 5pm yesterday to vacate.

There were no arrests and no charges laid on Saturday.

“Investigations are ongoing and as such, the Queensland Police Service is not in a position to provide any further comment,” Supt Scanlon said.

“Maintaining public order and community safety is paramount to the QPS.

“The QPS has the support and commitment of the Queensland Government and other local, State and

Federal agencies to eliminate the violence and criminal business activities of Criminal Motorcycle Gangs (CMG) throughout Queensland.”

A Rebels member from the North Queensland region declined to comment when contacted by media.

“Any comment we make regards the Rebels would be done through a statement from UMCQ (The United Motorcycle Council of Queensland),” he said.

The UMCQ waged a $1 million challenge against the anti-biker laws in the High Court, but the seven judges reserved its decision on the validity of the laws in September.

There were no signs of disturbance outside The Farm as the clocked ticked over the deadline yesterday.

A single unmarked police car pulled out of the address a few minutes after 5pm.

Later, a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said detectives visited the Stuart property at 5pm and that Rebels members had complied with the legislation.

Another article about a trip to Mexico. Cpl. Tahmoressi still languishes in a Mexican prison. So much for Bikernet's boycott. As a veteran and Patron member of the NRA.

I am not only offended, I am done with Bikernet.
