I like the things that my brother Berry Wardlaw comes up with and asks me if I want to be involved in.

Not long ago he asked me what I thought about a Time Capsule with motorcycle history.

 With the way things are changing in our world today and have over the years, I am sure he already knew my answer, as I have been doing some of that in hopes to pass on to our current and future motorcycle riders and others.

 Luckily there are others who think the same way and we have museums and other sources doing it. But having a Time Capsule I believe is a new concept.

 As the discussion continued it was decided that the majority of what went into this specific capsule would be about people who are no longer with us and had an influence on our lives and that of others.

Ride To The Crossroads

 While people’s names were being mentioned Charlie Brechtel and Dennis Sanfilippo names came up and the recent motorcycle movie, they did named the “Rough Boys”.

  Berry did an excellent job of making the time capsule, which was not a surprise as all of the work he does he pays attention to detail.

 

 The original plan was for Berry Wardlaw, Vivian Charros, Dana Peters and Rogue to bring the completed time capsule to Clarksdale Mississippi and find a place for it.

 Well people found out what was being planned and wanted to be part of it. That was Great, but from past experience we learned the more people involved, the more confusing things gets, so Berry came up with an Unsupervised Trip. He would let those interested know what our route and stops were going to be. People could meet us at Accurate Engineering in Dothan, Alabama and ride with us, meet up any place along the way or at the Shack Up Inn, in Clarksdale.

 Those wanting items in the time capsule could send them to Accurate Engineering prior to us departing or ship them to us in Clarksdale before the capsule was sealed.

After lunch we headed to Tupelo. People did stay at different places around town but some of us got together for supper.

The ride to the Shack Up Inn, 001 Commissary Road, Clarksdale, Mississippi was enjoyable.

I got to tell ya, I was a little surprised when we pulled into one of the parking places. I did not realize this was where we were going to be staying. I thought we were just meeting more folks here.

Next, was riding over the railroad tracks to get to the other gravel parking lot.

There was already a bunch of motorcycles there.

There was a stage, a bar, cabins and other dwellings all over the place. People had no problem getting situated and started to party.

During the rest of the day and Monday people did whatever they wanted to, many going into town or just riding around the area.

BACKING UP A LITTLE – Shortly after Berry had contacted me about doing this, he phoned me again with I Got Ta Tell Ya A Story. It turns out he and Vivian had been out hunting and during all of that there came up a conversation about making her an Amish Woman. Of course, Berry thinks that would be fun and starts saying we can get a horse and buggy, him a hat and her a bonnet. Story is Vivian looked at Berry and said Ya Deaf Ass (or something similar) I Said Honest Woman.

Berry then asked me if I would perform the wedding in Clarksburg. I was honored and naturally I agreed. He told me not to say anything while he put it together. There were only going to be five of us knowing about it, and Vivian was not going to be one of them.

The five would be Berry, Athena Ransom as the Maid of Honor, Benny Turner as Berry’s Best Man, Charlie Musselwhite giving Vivian away and me performing the ceremony

 Berry ordered a bunch of Amish Black Hats and White Bonnets and the plan was for him to put on a hat, get on a knee, present her with a bonnet and ask her to be his Amish Woman.

While this was going on the rest of the hats and bonnets were handed out to those attending.

It was decided to mount the Time Capsule in the Good Time Room at the Shack Up Inn. After the wedding ceremony, I and others put the final items in the capsule and I sealed it. It is scheduled to be opened in 20 years

The Wedding Reception was at the Blue Berry Café in Clarksburg which included some Great Blues Music and Good Food.

As with all good things like this they end, well until we meet again.

People had such a good time there is talk about making this an annual event. Sounds Good To Me.
