Champion Women Motorcycle Racer And More at Revved-Up Women Texas Motorcycle Exposition--
Join nationally-known women motorcyclists at Revved-Up Women—Texas Motorcycle Expo April 28-30, at Retama Park, near San Antonio, TX. Attendees will enjoy guided rides, workshops and panel discussions by recognized leaders in the motorcycle industry, beginner and advanced rider classes, a fashion show, and a free Sunday brunch.

“It’s a combination rally, conference and tradeshow for experienced and new riders,” said Teresa Kelly, spokesperson for the inaugural family-friendly event. “It’s also unique in that it will offer women and girls who have never ridden a bike before the chance to experience this amazing sport safely and enjoyably.”

Among the highlights will be two panel discussions among leading motorcycle media, industry executives and riders about whether brands are meeting the needs of women, and if not, how they might improve. Moderated by Genevieve Schmitt, editor and publisher of Women Riders Now and considered a leading voice in women’s motorcycling, the panel includes women executives from Polaris, Harley-Davidson, BMW, and motorcycle media.

Champion motorcycle racer Shelina Moreda and her professional She’z Moto coaches will be on hand to provide “Kickstart” motorcycle riding introduction and advanced courses for ages 10 and up. Most recently she won the women's championship in Qatar and scored a podium finish in China in the (men's) Superbike race.

More than 16 workshops will include presentations by:
• Brittany Morrow, international Rock the Gear safety expert
• Genevieve Schmitt, editor and publisher of Women Riders Now
• Krystal Hess, owner of Ricochet Custom and founder of Motorcycle Missions
• Jen Dalton, The Litas international motorcycle group

The first 100 people to register for the expo will get free ticket to participate in Fiesta San Antonio’s Circle for Life escorted motorcycle ride fundraiser to raise awareness of the need for organ donations. Major event sponsor Edwards Motorcycle Law is underwriting the free ride passes with a $5,000 donation to the charity, and will also be providing a free fiesta lunch for all expo ticket holders who participate in the ride.

“We hope to make this an annual event to promote safe motorcycle riding as something the whole family can participate in and enjoy,” said Billy Edwards, of the Edwards Law Firm, which has offices in Corpus Christi and San Antonio.

The Cody Bryan Band will play on Friday night, and LC Rocks will play on Saturday night.

For vendor and sponsor information call 512-695-4626 or visit the expo website.

BIKERNET TRIKES EDITOR NEWS BLAST, SORTA-- I recently met a Chinese man and got to know that his name was Kannaswami.

I asked him, "How did you ever get a name like that being a Chinese?"

He said -"Many, many years ago when I first went to USA, I was standing in line at the Political Asylums Immigration Counter. The man in front of me was a Sri Lankan Tamil refugee.

The white lady at the counter looked at him and asked "What is your name?" He replied "Kannaswami.”

Then she looked at me and asked "What's your name?"

I said, "Sem Ting".

Guys, please be careful about what you buy online. If u buy stuff online please check out the seller very carefully. Our resident hippie Raymond Hamilton from BikernetTrikes.com just lost US $.545/- plus tax on a penis enlarger.

The bastard seller sent him a magnifying glass.

The only instructions that came along with it were "DO NOT USE IN SUNLIGHT.”

BRAND New Bikernet Reader Comment!--

Monster Twin Cam Race Engines from JIMS

I'm really considering replacing my ‘05 deuce twin cam 88 with a 120-inch JIMS. Does the 120 have the auto compression relief valves or do you have to have relief valves installed? Also would like to know the cost of these engines & if I ordered one can I get the jugs diamond cut. I know that would be extra.

I do realize that I'd be forced to change transmission over to the Screamin’ Eagle race. Would this engine require a high torque starter & the bigger 64mm intake?

If you can I'd like to get a quote on a 120 w/diamond cut jugs, & any information on anything else that would be require to change my bike over to the 120 engine.

LAW TIGERS-- WELCOME TO LAW TIGERS
Helping Injured Riders Nationwide

Law Tigers is proud to be Cory Texter’s premier sponsor this season!

Following his most successful season in professional motorcycle racing, Cory Texter is preparing to contest the 2017 American Flat Track Championship. Texter made a lot of noise this past year with two podium finishes and ninth overall in the final points standings. He will again compete in the Twins class under his own banner, Cory Texter Racing.

Sour Punch Candy has agreed to be the title sponsor of Cory Texter Racing. Sour Punch Candy came on as a sponsor at the end of the 2016 season and will be stepping up its efforts to help Texter battle against the factory teams this season. Sour Punch is a big supporter of action sports and excited about its involvement in American Flat Track.

“We are very excited to work with Cory again this year”, said Mia Newman from Sour Punch Candy. “He’s been an important partner in reaching a younger audience for the Sour Punch brand. We wish Cory a successful and safe 2017 season and we are behind him 100%.”

Also stepping up support is long-time sponsor McElroy Packaging from Wooster, Ohio. The McElroy family has been supporting both Cory Texter and his sister, Shayna, for several seasons and will return as a premier sponsor in 2017.

Law Tigers Motorcycle Lawyers will also serve as a premier sponsor. Law Tigers is a national network of local motorcycle accident attorneys who are committed to protecting fellow motorcycle riders. They are based in 10 states across the country and big fans of American Flat Track. Law Tigers promotes the Arizona Mile.

Don’s Kawasaki and DPC Racing will join forces with CTR this season. Don and Erin Kissinger are longtime friends of the Texter family and their support will be a driving force in Texter’s efforts. Dan Caulkins from DPC Racing is sure to add another major component to the team’s success.

“I am really excited and truly blessed to have so many people behind me this season who believe in me and want to see me succeed,” said Texter. “Last season was a good year and we had some successful races, but I know we can build on what we accomplished last year and contend for race wins in 2017.”

Mechanic Justin Bender will also return to the team this season. Bender and Texter worked together last season and look to build momentum on what they learned in 2016.

The team will have three Kawasaki twin-cylinder motorcycles in its arsenal this season. Alan Rodenborn will build engines, while Gordy Schopieray is responsible for producing the CTR machines. Texter will also race Lancaster Honda-sponsored CRF450Rs at other events in various series throughout the season.

“I am putting in a lot of work this winter to prepare myself for a long and busy season,” said Texter. “There are some factory teams that have really stepped up their efforts in 2017, but I believe my self-owned team with the people I have behind me can contend with the best of them.”

The 2017 American Flat Track season will kick off with the Daytona TT on March 16 inside Daytona International Speedway. Be sure to watch coverage of all 18 AFT national events this season starting in July on NBC Sports.

THE MAGNIFICENT BORN TO RIDE BUILD-OFF-- It began as a simple idea from business partners Gary Bang and Preston Farrior with very modest parameters: Build a bagger and mid-sized cruiser, using 90 percent Harley Davidson parts that would be cool enough for the VP and Prez of The Florida Harley Group to enjoy riding.

Wow how a fun, little notion turned into a bold, huge event just five years later.

The Florida Harley Group invites you to its Annual Bike Build Off March 2 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Brandon Harley Davidson, located at 9841 E. Adamo Dr., where it will unveil the latest quests for art, heart, power and design during a search for the Baddest Bagger. The competition is between the five Florida Harley Group stores – Tampa, Brandon, New Port Richey, Panama City Beach, and Tallahassee Harley-Davidson.

Each store was given approximately $13,000 to customize a bagger that six judges, including Bang, Farrior and some H-D execs, will evaluate using a point system. Bang said if the audience in attendance and online at Facebook Live are loud enough, they might be able to sway the judges with some points for their favorites as well.

This year, a new twist was added to the competition – teams also had to build a cool mid-sized cruiser within a $4,000 budget.

“Times have changed,” Bang said. “Now the gloves are off. The theme is ‘Stuck in the 90s’ – custom made our way. A lot of people don’t want to do that anymore. We’re back doing custom work and it’s a great morale booster for teamwork and fun.”

Popular stunt rider Cole Freeman, a.k.a. “Lil Krazy”, of Ill Conduct stunt team, shook down a few of the bikes in with some pre-event rides to get them street ready. Since these bikes have either been pre-sold or will be for sale after the event – at prices that have topped more than $40,000 in the past – Born To Ride looks at all 10 bikes, with a primary focus on the Bad Baggers, and what went into the custom fabrications and after-market add-ons.
