REPLACEMENT

To replace the race, simply place it back on the shaft as far as it will go by hand. Then place the long steel collar provided with the JIMS tool over the mainshaft.

Place the jam screw inside the collar, and thread it INTO the end of the input shaft (which sits inside the center of the main shaft.

Turn the screws as shown above, restraining the rear one and turning counter clockwise to put the race back into place. Note: The inside thread is a reverse thread. Continue to turn until the race is back in its original position, as specified in your service manual.

Another Note: A good method for placement is to mark the original position of the old race BEFORE you pull it off such that you can place the new one right up to the mark and be on your way.
