The mastermind, Fatbob, in the back relaxing.

Hey, I built this out of a set of rollers from a conveyor. I didn't buy anything but the sprocket. I had the rest of the stuff. I have been wanting to do this for a long time, now the back insists. I plan install some wheels and a handle so moving it will be easy. I think maybe a little ramp will help, so the jack isn't necessary. She works though, fired up the old '55. This should be news worthy.

Well here it is, the finished product. FATBOB'S auxillary starter. Made out of necessity. I am old, bad back and of course FAT. It works fantastic. I gave it a trial run just to make sure it was going to work.

I then added the wheels and handle. The handle I robbed from a spare tire rack off a blazer. The rollers and frame were made by cutting the ends off a roller from a quarry conveyor. I mounted one behind the other and added a sprocket from the farm store. The engine was robbed from an old mini bike.

The wheels came from Harbour Freight. I have a total of $37.00, including the paint and new throttle lever, twist grip was shitty. I scrounged all of the steel off construction sites. I am pleased with the way it turned out. No more kicking fresh strokers, etc. I don't mind kicking if everything is dialed in, but when they're not, fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is to new ideas from old dogs. I'm leaving for Oley Pa, in the morning, should have some pics of the AMCA meet for the Sunday Post. Matt and Dale Walksler will be there, I don't know if Matt Olson will be, but most likely.

This puppy carries around 100lbs per ft on a 50 ft conveyor. The steel is 1/2 inches thick and the shafts are 2-inch. I will take a pic of the type of conveyor I scored the parts from. I'm going to mount the wheels today and put a handle on it. I built it heavy duty. This will start our hillclimber and flat-tracker that are on the drawing table. The vintage races at Davenport and hillclimb in Dickeyville are iconic around this part of the woods. We plan to go since the young blood wants to compete.
