The rally is held each year at the Heritage Center south of Austin
off highway 290 and attracts vendors & builders such as J&P Cycles,
Chrome Specialties, Drag Specialties, Dallas Easyriders and Martin
Brothers to name a few. This year pre-registered numbers are
estimated at 14,500 with an estimated 15,000+ more walk up
registrations. Roughly 10,000 more people then last year's numbers.
The economical boost to the city is estimated to be $21 million
dollars. Not bad for a run that is in it's sixth year. Charlie
Daniels was this year's headline entertainer for Saturday night if
you wanted to stay out at the fairgrounds. However there are bands
playing throughout the day, along with all the other typical rally
events.
One of the traditions of each ROT Rally (for those that wish to
par take) is the parade run from the Heritage Center to Sixth Street
Downtown. For those who have never been to Austin, 6th street has 3
or 4 city blocks of nothing but bars & live entertainment in
downtown. This is where a majority of the people go to party and
play on Friday and Saturday nights. This event has expanded from
near empty at midnight to bikes being 5 to 6 deep last year.
