Milwaukee Motorcycle Rally
Good Times In The Home Of The Motor Co.

From The Professor
December, 2002

Way back in May I started hearing ads on the radio about the Milwaukee Motorcycle Rally being sponsored by the Milwaukee Area Harley Davidson Dealers. Sounded like fun. So being the helpful involved guy I am I wrote a note to Bandit and asked if he would like me to send him some coverage of the event and, if he wished, for me to hand out a few stickers for Bikernet. After some correspondence back and forth he sent me a bagfull of stickers and said go for it.

Life is kinda funny sometimes, and sometimes it's just a pain in the ass. Like Bandit I'm captivated by the fairer sex.

And like Bandit I get carried away and end up involving the florist and the jeweler and the preacher.

Of course this means a trip to the courthouse to fill out the proper documentation and make it all legally binding.

Binding, that's a good word for it. Like Bandit my choices aren't always so good and I end up getting the lawyers and the judge involved. So there's yet another trip to the courthouse to make it all legally un-binding.

Throw in two jobs and a pre-teen kid and you have five months before I get around to actually putting anything together for Bikernet. So sue me! There ain't nothin' left to take anyway!

I swear I ain't gettin' married again.

I'm just going to find some woman I don't like and buy her a house.

But about the show…

Everyone converged on Veterans Park in Milwaukee on June 6th through the 9th and the organizers couldn't have picked a better weekend for a rally. The weather was sunny and mid 80's with a cool breeze coming off the lake. According to the folks running the show we had over 50,000 people show up and there was plenty for them to see and do. Any kind of appetite was fed with dozens of food vendors and Barbecue joints going. Every type of accessory or gizmo or gadget was on display with care and maintenance products shoved in between.

There were at least fifteen HOG chapters represented so you know everyone enjoyed some good clean fun. Bleah!
