I found a quiet place to hide on Thursday night before heading up to
Louisville on Friday morning. I watched the show being put together in one
of the immense halls of the Kentucky International Convention Center.
Banners went up, bikes rolled in.
By mid-afternoon Saturday, the place was bursting at the seams with people.
The array of bikes was unreal, everything from radical
choppers to immaculate Indians.
Chris Howell's "Nightmare FXR" drew quite a crowd. The artist worked on it
in her spare time over two years. She nearly lost her mind. I
never thought I'd finish the paint on this bike!
Taking home a second place was sushi chef Joe Nishijima's "Silver Moon," an
elegant, silver Softail chopper. Joe owns Yuki Japanese restaurant in
Bowling Green. It was Joe's first attempt at bike building. Can't wait to
see his second.
