For one weekend, Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis, Ind., could have been
re-named Chopper City. With the Easyriders Bike Show Finals in Columbus and
the Dealer Expo in Indy, hot choppers of all styles and shapes raised the
ice-cold temperatures.
My first stop was the Dealer Expo. It was my first visit to Indy in almost
20 years and all I can say is wow. With three massive floors of dealer displays, the network of skywalks between hotels, garages and the RCA Dome/Convention Center, and the endless array of distinctive restaurants and clubs, it was sensory overload. There was no way to fit it all into one or two days.
CCI's Camp Custom Chrome was one of the many unique displays. It was a combination of rustic lodge meets extreme motorcycle, complete with
trees, tents, critters big and small, glittering chrome and billet, and the
latest trends in the marketplace.
I checked out one of their bears while my friend, Greg, checked out one of the wandering fashion models.
It was there that I ran into Dave Perewitz and Rev Tech's master designer/engineer, John Reed.
