Choppers Inc brought a few of their unique, savage choppers up from Florida.
Carolina HD, Charlotte HD, Morton's Cycle, Cove Cycle, and Iron Horse
Motorcycles, were just a few of the many shops represented.
The distance award had to go to Christoph Cordon of Houston, Texas, and his Native
American style softail. The incredible JD Challenger inspired paint scheme
airbrushed by his partner, Phoenix, got him a second place trophy.
Another favorite at the show was one of the sweetest choppers I've ever seen. The
detail work on this silvery blue work of art from the jungles of Florida,
was not to be believed.

Later in the evening, it was party time New Orleans style, as Branscombe
Richmond's Renegade Posse Band brought a taste of Mardi Gras to the Queen
City. It was the first time I'd had the pleasure of seeing his band perform.
The pure energy of his Posse Band radiated to every corner of the show.
Branscombe tossed tee shirts and Mardi Gras beads to the crowd while he
belted out a set of killer blues.
As for me, the tar and feathers would have to wait for another time as
Purple Haze chopper I had painted, took home a first place in Radical
Custom. By the show's end, we all dreamed of crawling back into our holes
and hanging "Do Not Disturb" signs, but bike show season is just getting
started. Better put in for another order of midnight oil.
