Choppers Inc had their " Knuckle Sandwich" on display. The custom bike
scene had been a blur of overkill. We've seen "sleeker," "shinier", and
"smoother." The new trend seems to be one of embracing the past.
Chrome Specialties was pushing their Pandemonium motor and their new custom
"Brass Knuckles." Knucklehead Power has come out of nowhere with their
incredible line of products. The aftermarket is getting interesting again.
People are building and riding wild chops powered by high tech versions of
antique designs. Choppers were everywhere. I saw a dark, evil, no fendered,
triumph slink by.
Then there are the unusual rides. If it's on 2 wheels, you'll see it in
Daytona. As I had a made a promise to get a bro back home a hat. I rode up
to the Iron Horse Wed night. I parked my sporty, then 4 suspicious
characters approached me. As my bodyguards were gathered around a crackling
fire, passing around a jug, 1200 miles north of me, I was helpless. They
forced me to show them the secret shortcut to Main St. I thought I could
lose them in the jungle but they were too sly. Somehow we found parking by
Boot Hill.
