The new Compufire 1.6kW starter for late model Harley-Davidson motorcycles (2006 and later Dynas and 2007 and later Big Twins) produces 102% more working energy than the stock starter with the use of a high-energy, high amperage, precision wound armature.

The starter includes an eleven-tooth drive gear (ten is stock), which increases the cranking speed and multiplies the torque for reliable starting of large displacement or high compression Twin-Cam engines. The new starter will operate at the rated output using the stock battery and cables and will clear the oil filler on both Dyna and Touring models.
