We reported a few weeks ago in this entry, that Ducati was working on a power cruiser motorcycle.

At the time we posted a so-called “spy shot” of the rumored bike, most likely a pre-marketing effort from the Bologna firm. Today we bring another picture and its official name.

Original speculations about Ducati’s new muscle bike’s name brought us Vyper and Mega Monster. Now, according to MCN, the Italian manufacturer has registered “Diavel” as the official name for the bike; it means ‘devil’ in Ducati’s local Bolognese dialect. Diavel was also registered by Ducati apparel, watches, cosmetics and toys. It looks like the company is putting a lot of stock in a new model that would widen its product line and appeal to a more varied customer base.

We will keep you posted on this new player on the cruiser market and we’ll make sure snatch one up for a road test as soon as they’re available. Ciao!
