Photos and Text by Mike Pullin with commentary by the Digital Gangster Continued from Page 1 Some background on the bike. I had bought a frame in December of 1997 and by February of 1998 I had a rolling chassis together. By May I had grown discouraged and sold it all to a friend.
(Notice the Trick Placement of the Oil Filter) - DG Justin passed away on November 14, 1998. In January of 1999, I started to think about the bike I had started. I decided to give my friend "Heavy" a call to see if he still had the rolling chassis I sold him. To my surprise he did and sold it back to me for the same price I had sold it to him for. From that moment on I was determined to finish the bike this time. It would be built "in memory of Justin" and as a tribute to him.
As the bike came together I would remember how Justin was so determined and that he never gave up. I ran into a lot of "it can't be dones" and I would remember how when Justin was told that, how much more determined he would become to prove you wrong. The bike was finished one week before the Easyrider Bike Show in Charlotte (January 2000). The bike got a lot of attention and ended up taking 1st place/Spectator Class - In the Wind. I know Justin was looking down that night and was very proud. It was real nice to win but it was about a lot more than the bike winning, it was about remembering Justin. -Mike Pullin
P.S. Every year in July we hold a run "in memory of Justin" called "The Run
For Breath." All the proceeds go to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of
America. It starts out as a poker run and ends with a bike show. All the
shops in the area help sponsor this event.
