Cyril Huze Tattoo Chop
Tribal Language Spoken Through The Strength And Lines Of Two Wheels |
There's a lot of talk about Chops being something new, about one guy building something that resembles another builder's scoot. There's as much banter as there are notions and just as many parts variations. The bottom line is the freedom to express whatever rocks our canoes that day. Here's Cyril's take on his recent creation,
"True bikers are modern tribalists. Aside from asserting their rights to ride free, they use their bodies and motorcycles as markers of group identity. It's one reason why they are such a visually distinctive subculture of our society. A person's chosen image is a more effective resume of inner self than anything put in words.
"Tattoo Chop is not only about aesthetics and tribal art, but also about attitude. Tattoo Chop talks the language of freedom, defies convention, and demonstrates the power of self-expression."
Cyril is an extremely distinctive motorcycle artist. I would rank him with Paul Yaffe and Jesse James. Although, his bikes are softer, less harsh and more connected to women and music. Generally they are smaller, more flowing and painted light soft tones. This is a departure, but it still contains Cyrils details that make this bike as distinctive as his other creations.
In a sense it's odd that Cyril has reached out into the back streets of the Miami tattoo parlors, while here at Bikernet we're using Cyril's creative products to slam together the Amazing Shrunken FXR, a miniaturized big twin that's tight and little. It just goes to show that today you can be attacked by the need to have an all-black highbar monster and tomorrow you build a bobber that's tight, low and painted mustard yellow. That's what it's all about--freedom. --Renegade
