Diane

The lady in the picture is Diane Baldwin, who along with her husband, Click, owns Carolina HD of Gastonia, NC. She and Click ride in the Kyle Petty Ride Across America next week. Carolina HD is also one of the organizers of the run. Click and Kyle are currently riding the route this week, to check everything out. The ride starts out of Fontana, Calif. this Saturday. The Ride ends at Petty's Farm in Trinity, NC on July 1. Lynyrd Skynyrd will be playing at the Arrival Celebration. Tickets for the Celebration are still available. Diane rides on this run every year. She, Click, and Kyle ride in pack wherever they need to be, keeping the 160 or so riders organized. Diane says the hardest part of the run are not the 600 mile days, but the pit stops. "Can you imagine 160 bikes gassing up?" she says.

The bike started out as an FLHT Standard, the least expensive dresser available. Jim, Carolina HD's builder, extended the tank, sank an LED light in the rear fender, put PYO LED's in the saddlebags, and reworked a stock fat boy front fender. Then just about everything was sent out for blackpowder coating. Black powder coated heat shields were custom made.
