One Big Bad Rigid
Digital's Project Comes Alive |

Not long after the frame had arrived, I met old Bandit. He made me a proposition. Help him get this Bikernet website out of the gutter, and he'd help me finish this bike by paying me millions and millions of dollars such that I could afford to go procure only the best components available for the scoot. Well, the story goes something like that anyhow.
Custom Chrome built the 100 CID mill (for you metric guys, that's about a 1620 cc engine). It comes with a 2 year, 20,000 mile warranty - the best in the business. And guess what - it runs and sounds just as good as it looks. The high compression motor pumps out damned near 100 HP and just as much ft-lb of torque if set up with the right ignition, exhaust, and tuning.
Somewhere in the middle of this project, I was going back and forth about what to put on this thing paint wise. The thought was simple enough. This thing was going to be built to haul the mail. Racing stripes were in the plan. Then, about a month later I saw 3 issues of various magazines where racing stripes were all the rage. Well - forget that. I like stripes, flames, tribal paint, trick graphics, etc., but I was looking for something different.
I'd been a fan of Jon Towle art ever since I met the guy, and lately, he'd done some killer artwork for the Cantina - in full color. Until about a year ago, Jon did mostly black and white illustrations. But when the need for color became apparent for the Cantina, he started coloring his scanned drawings on the computer. The effect is fabulous. So to make a long story short, I told Jon I needed a slobberin' toon wolf with big gleaming teeth, a Bogart hat, and his tongue in the breeze. He filled the order perfectly. Thanks Jon.
