Avon's Latest: Venom-X
|
Venom X Front/Rear Whitewall
|
In the development of new motorcycle tires, rarely is there a technological breakthrough as there was with Avon's Azaro construction called VBD (variable belt density). Most of the time, it is a series of small progressions that produce a substantially better product. This is the case with Avon's all new Venom-X.
The Venom-X uses the highly refined multi-arc tread profile which complements today's modern motorcycles producing a very predictable roll in for light, neutral cornering.
One of the new tires most distinguishable features is its unique tread pattern. The pattern draws strongly from the Azaro and AM 23 family where excellent wear and wet weather performance were developed. Another special technology was borrowed from Avon's automotive division-sequential patterning. This concept is used on the tires developed for Rolls Royce as original equipment. The shifting pattern design eliminates the harmonics that can produce a constant 'droning' sound.

The Venom-X's sidewall treatment breaks new ground cosmetically with its highly stylized knurled texture and Venom-snake-head logo. Several sizes will be available in both narrow and wide band white wall.
New casing advancements have produced a low rolling resistance for cooler running and longer tread life. As is the case with most 'H' (130 mph) speed rated tires ride quality is critical. The Venom-X exceptional ride quality reduces rider fatigue, especially over long distance, without compromising handling stability.
As is the case with most tires, the compounding is vital. Avon's special formulation has produced a tread compound that has a very high tear resistance for longer life but soft enough to yield high levels of grip in both the wet and dry.
'Profiling' or 'Mileing' the Venom-X will keep you smiling.
Key Points on the New Venom:
