AVON TECH ADVICE FOR THE WEEK-- What is the benefit of a tubeless liner in a tire over a tube type tire.

Imagine you make a bet with your friend that you can stick a pin in a balloon and it won't pop. Might be a good way for one of you to make some money if there's a wager on it. First, smooth a small square of duct tape on the deflated balloon. Then inflate the balloon and tie in a knot. Next stick the pin into the balloon where the duct tape is. Voila, no puncture. The duct tape wraps around the balloon similar to what happens when you ride on a tubeless tire and go over a nail. The inner liner wraps around the nail and slows down the leak very well so chances are you'll just get a very slow leak rather than a very fast deflation like you would on a tube type tire.

So it's very important to make sure your tube is always replaced whenever you replace your tire so you have a good tube.
