My first Easy Riders show was about 11 years ago and I was not too impressed. I went looking for long chopped bikes but there were few to find. My taste has never meshed with the current trends but I thought the show would have something to offer. I spent the entire few hours at the show outside looking at the daily riders. That was AWESOME. Long, low, greasy bikes were surrounding the facilities.

But again, that was a long time ago. Piasano Publications, the publishers that bring riders titles such as Easy Riders, Biker, In the Wind and more sold the event years ago. Since the show has been managed by another company, I have attended several years in a row and I now consider it a “must-see” on my list.

This year’s show was pretty good. As a writer and an attendee of these types of shows in this economy, I don’t expect much. I assume that there will be less booths and exhibitors since they are all cutting back on budget (if they are still in business) and I expect less crowds and attendees. Again, money is tight as we all know.

However, this show seemed pretty normal from the attractions and the people. The bikes outside the event were parked three-deep and more bikes roared up and down the street. I am sure a huge part of it was the weather. It was January but people were riding with light jackets and t-shirts on. Maybe that was the reason that everyone came out.

On the other hand, maybe there were tons of folks here since there are way less shows going on. The economy has killed off many of the shows in the area. Either way and whatever the reasons, the show was busy and a really cool party for an indoor event.

Check out the pictures that I captured from the show. I went for the Metrics, of course, but there were only three that I counted. One of them was the world champ Metric bike from AFT Customs. If you have not seen the bike, please get out from under the rock. Go into the features section to see Er Hed and Melanie or you can check the bike out at www.aftcustoms.com. It was cool to see this bike first hand.

Check out the pics and stay right. Special thanks to Gocke for the pictures!
