D&D QUESTION OF THE WEEK-- Mr. D&D is taking all questions. Send your performance exhaust question to Mr. D&D at exhaustman@horsepowermarketing.com. Question One: Aftermarket Pipes Question: How do your exhaust systems compare with other aftermarket pipes? - Steve Digacomo, Austin, TX Mr. D&D Answer: D&D pipes are designed to improve the overall power band in the usable RPM range. D&D pipes extra value comes from:

  • Hand Made by Skilled Craftsmen
  • Dyno Designed
  • Superb Fit and Finish
  • Factory Installed Heat Shields
  • Constructed for "Real Life" Durability
  • Hand Polished
  • Finished in Show Quality Chrome or Ceramic Coating Question Two: V-Rod Slip-On pipes Question: My friend has a new V-rod and wants only to have a little more good sound but not end up with an overly loud bike. We have looked at your slip-on pipes for the V-Rod and he likes the look. I have 3 questions: 1) Does D&D recommend a fuel adjustment for the EFI if nothing else is changed on the bike? If yes, a Power Commander or what? 2) Would you consider these pipes "loud" compared to more performance oriented types of systems? 3) What do you suggest for the best set-up for this bike is if he purchases the slip-on pipes. - Daniel Brock, Dallas, TX Mr. D&D Answer: The Slip-ons will be louder than the stock pipes. A tuner update may be required as the slip-ons do flow more than the normal.

To determine if you need to tune your system, conduct the analysis. After Install warm the bike to the normal operating temperature and see if it pops on decell and or has a flat spot on acceleration. If either of these symptoms occur then a tuner will be required to bring the system into a proper tune.

Race Tuners, Power Commanders, Factory Downloads and/or Zippers ECU units have all been tested on our dyno and have shown superior results.
